Job Description
You will perform typical front office and back office responsibilities. This includes patient education, medication requests, handling patient questions, and supporting provider needs. You will assist with patient support such as answering patient emails, patient phone calls, processing medical records, submitting prior authorizations, and working with other MAs nationally. You will also collaborate with providers, customer support, and other medical assistants to provide the best patient experience.
Day To Day:
Knowledge of and ability to use and apply medical terminology
Knowledge of computer systems and electronic medical records
Ability to coordinate medical tests or procedures for patients
Ability to discuss results of medical results with patients
Ability to serve as first line for patient medical concerns
Ability to speak and write effectively at a high school graduate level
Ability to speak professionally on phone support
Ability to demonstrate customer service skills in interactions with all patients and family members including in high volume and stressful situations
Minimum Requirements
At least 1 year of directly related medical assistant work experience (not including internship)
Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma from an approved school/institution or equivalent documented training (i.e. military medic, EMT, etc.).
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
A great communicator - both written and verbal
Desired Skills
Experience with any customer service software (such as Zendesk, Freshdesk, talkdesk salesforce etc)
Psychiatric Experience
(Preferred) Bachelor's Degree
Passionate about delivering an exceptional customer experience
Sensitive to people and their mental health care journey
Flexible to work some evenings or partial weekends when needed
