The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) – Data provides high quality, cost effective automated test functionality to validate the quality of new and existing software functionality within the CSAA Data Space (Data Warehousing on Prem & Cloud, BI, API/SOA, AI/ML). They proficiently design, modify and support existing automated test frameworks for CSAA data capabilities, including regression testing and CI/CD pipeline integration. They function as an integral part of an Agile scrum team, assisting with quality software design, development, testing and deployment.

Role Accountabilities

Works with Scrum/Agile team to establish and support the execution of automated tests on the Continuous Integration Environment for Functional and Regression Testing

Creates, modifies and executes automated tests, test scripts and test suites including functional and regression tests

Executes both manual and automated tests. Analyzes execution results to determine the reason for test failures

Ensures clear and prompt reporting on a build/release status for all stakeholders based on test run execution results

Develops expertise in the Enterprise Data Hub applications and maintains a solid knowledge with respect to automated testing tools and techniques

Participate in product design, data design and user interface sessions; understand the business intent and requirements, leveraging this knowledge when designing test regimes

Provides requirements for the format of manual tests to be automated and/or executed

Reviews manual tests that are subject for automation and provides feedback on value of automating or execution as a manual test

Reviews automated tests, test scripts and test suites implemented by other automation testers and provides feedback

Proposes improvements / optimizations to existing automation framework

Contributes to the review and development of QA standards, policies and procedures

Required Skills/Experience

Undergraduate studies in computer science and engineering, management information systems or related degree

Minimum five years of experience in QA test automation in the data space developing test cases and test automation for data movement and analytic capabilities (data warehousing, master data management, API/SOA, AI/ML)

Strong collaboration skills

Proven experience with application automation tools (Selenium)

Strong data querying and data validation skills using SQL with solid experience testing data pipelines

Test automation framework experience(Java, Maven, TestNG, JSON )

CI/CD pipeline automation experience (Jenkins, Docker, etc.)

Experience within an Agile delivery methodology

Preferred Skills / Experience

Property and Casualty Insurance experience

Experience working with and coordinating automated test activities across multiple teams

C#, Java or other object oriented language
