Chief Administrative Officer- Dallas, TX (Partially Remote)

MAKE: $100,000 to $130,000 PER YEAR

We are family-owned and invest the capital of our affiliates in small businesses, venture investments and real estate. Our ideal holding period is forever, differentiating us from traditional micro private equity. We use the net cash generated by our holdings to invest in future growth and acquisitions. We value the opportunity to partner with operators and/or existing management by aligning our incentives so they can participate in the value they help create.

We are looking for a task-oriented, well-organized, and ethical individual to lead our shared services platform that provides management services to our affiliated portfolio companies. This role will serve as the right-hand person to the president and owner of the company, helping with a wide range of tasks that are needed to efficiently manage and accelerate growth of our affiliated businesses while controlling costs. The Chief Administrative Officer will manage tasks that are wide-ranging, from day-to-day administrative tasks for the president of the company to more complex analyses such as:

  • Overseeing outsourced bookkeepers that work for our various small business affiliates;
  • Coordinating outside legal work for various affiliates;
  • Helping with the formation of new entities and businesses;
  • Conducting basic financial analysis for our business holdings, such as a review of insurance, marketing or other cost savings opportunities;
  • Creating and overseeing budgets for real estate development projects and keeping them on track;
  • Helping filter new venture/start-up investment opportunities;
  • Managing payroll, benefits and employment matters for some of our businesses;
  • Implementing and overseeing customized reporting conducted by third parties:
  • Overseeing and maintaining the organizational structure of all of our affiliates;
  • Reviewing tax returns generated by third-party CPAs; and
  • Proactively thinking of ways to save money or generate additional revenue across our multiple businesses.

Our shared services platform is anticipated to grow over time as each of our businesses grow and as we grow the number of businesses we own and manage. We expect the responsibilities of this role to grow along with our platform, and eventually could include the opportunity to delegate tasks and oversee personnel that serve in functions such as human resources, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.

This individual must have a high commitment to excellence and be exceptionally task-oriented, well organized and a good communicator. This position can work from home for part of the week depending on any given week’s workload, however applicants should anticipate a workload in excess of 40 hours a week given the level of responsibility.
