The Senior IT Quality Governance and Compliance Engineer reviews the most complex new and existing information systems applications to ensure that appropriate controls exist, that processing is efficient and accurate, and that information systems procedures are in compliance with corporate standards. The Senior IT Quality Governance and Compliance Professional work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Responsibilities

The Senior IT Quality Governance and Compliance Engineer works with all parts of IT to ensure that the appropriate controls exist, operate effectively and that information systems procedures are in compliance with industry and corporate standards for all applications and software. Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

The Senior IT Quality Governance and Compliance Engineer will:

  • Help drive the operationalization of new or changed technology policies and standards involving IT quality controls, including, but not limited to those related to: Functionality – Completeness, correctnessReliability – Fault Tolerance, AvailabilitySecurity – Confidentiality, Integrity, Non-repudiation, Accountability, Authenticity, DataMaintainability – Testability, Analyzability, ModifiabilityCompatibility – Interoperability, Coexistence
  • Support communication and education of new or changed polices involving quality controls
  • Monitor controls and collaborates with others on opportunities to improve quality and governance
  • Facilitate conversations on controls to determine remediation plans
  • Make decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed
  • Source and collect information to identify and monitor areas where quality can be improved within Humana’s Information Technology
  • Compile reporting, preparing it in a business deliverable format, if needed.
  • Identify changes and trends based on analytical findings
  • Drive improvement of processes and tools
  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Strong research, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Process analyzation and improvement experience
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including cross-functional teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including oral and written communications
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic and changing environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • General understanding of Cloud principles as related to quality and risk
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior demonstrated experience with quality engineering, quality governance, IT audit, IT compliance and/or IT governance
  • Prior demonstrated Cloud experience in area of governance, security, application development, testing, quality or application security
  • SAFe certifications
  • Demonstrated understanding of Agile Development
  • Demonstrated understanding of DevOps (Azure DevOps preferred)
  • Solid understanding of operations, technology, communications and processes
  • Experience working with large data sets, including use of pivot tables and merging of data sets
  • 2+ years of project leadership experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools
  • Experience with automating quality controls and attestations
  • Experience summarizing complex data into business deliverable format (written and verbal)
  • Metrics and report development experience
  • Exposure to Humana’s processes involving software procurement, data governance, cloud services
