Remote DMPK Head

My client is expanding and seeks a Head of DMPK to build and lead the DMPK function to IND enabling studies. This person will work remotely and conduct on-site team meetings as needed.

The ideal candidate will take on the following tasks:

Build and lead the DMPK function with cutting edge scientific and operational expertise to build a world class drug discovery engine.

Select and implement an external CRO drug discovery team.

Hire and lead an internal team to optimize operation of the external partners toward the goal of designing and delivering successful drug discovery programs.

Determine the target product and development candidate profiles.

Design and implement optimal lead generation and lead optimization DMPK evaluation strategies.

Implement a systems pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and PKPD model-based approach to drive lead optimization, drug candidate selection, and early clinical development.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

PhD in pharmacokinetics or pharmacology and 10+ years of industry experience with 5+ years in a leadership position.

Demonstrated experience hiring, mentoring, and leading an internal DMPK team that has delivered IND candidates through external partners.

Extensive neuroscience drug discovery and development experience, ideally within a start-up biotech firm.

Significant experience designing, building, and leading the operations of DMPK evaluation and optimization campaigns.

Successful track record successfully conducting systems pharmacology and PKPD model-based drug discovery and development from NCE discovery through IND to clinical proof of concept.

Track record developing medicines for optimal administration by both oral and parenteral routes.
