Responsibilities

The IT Network Systems Engineer will be responsible for supporting and optimizing Norton Healthcare's technical infrastructure and will seek improvements on a continuous basis, utilizing Norton Healthcare's technology standards including security, hardware, software, databases, desktop, network, server, storage and peripherals. The IT Network Systems Engineer will be considered the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in either Wireless, Data Center Networking, or Campus Routing & Switching, and having responsibility for this technology component in the Norton Enterprise. The IT Network Systems Engineer will also provide reports on the overall status and health of the specific network technologies, enabling leadership to make data-driven decisions regarding the infrastructure. While the IT Network Systems Engineer will be considered an SME in the specific technology, the Engineer is expected to be knowledgeable in the other networking technology areas, in order to offer insight and direction with engineering peers. This role will work closely with the other IS technology teams to ensure new products and standards will meet organizational goals and follow best practices for the networking technology stack. This role is expected to assist Security, Operations and Application teams in system rollouts to ensure the design, installation, configuration, business continuity / disaster recovery planning and documentation are accurately deployed and maintained. This role is responsible to maintain existing infrastructure to ensure hardware, firmware and software versions are kept up to date. Assist in leading organizational projects and initiatives to adhere to NHC standards and industry best practices, executing the plan to ensure the compatibility and integration for systems, and assists in managing the rollout of these initiatives from infancy to fruition ensuring all systems adhere to the highest standards. The individual will work with NHC IS architects and leadership to implement best practices, policies, and security standards for the organization that are highly available and are optimized for performance.

**This position has the opportunity to work from home. You may be asked to complete training at a Norton Healthcare facility or be able to come to a Norton Healthcare facility for business purposes. Employees in this role must reside in Kentucky or Indiana**

Qualifications

Required:

  • With Bachelor's degree: 7 years of experience in Information Technology
  • Without Bachelor's degree: 10 years of experience in Information Technology
  • Bachelor Degree: See Experience
