Job Purpose

As part of EnerSys Corporate Logistics the Trade & Customs Compliance Analyst supports the business and functions in preventing and resolving issues that may otherwise result in customs or compliance delays or violations. The role interacts with internal departments and work groups to define the Americas Trade Compliance standard for EnerSys. This role is a primary Trade Compliance point of contact providing guidance to the business. A key responsibility of this role is to help enable the business to fully comply with all relevant Trade Compliance laws and regulations. Close collaboration with EnerSys Legal, Logistics, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Shipping/Receiving, Purchasing as well as Government Authorities is required to successfully enable compliance Roles & Responsibilities. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Support Sr. Americas Logistics Manager in implementing Trade Compliance standards and procedures to enable compliance with all relevant Trade Compliance laws and regulations. 
Align business processes with changes and evolutions with internal and external Trade Compliance matters. 
Determine HS/Customs and, where applicable, Export Control Classification and Country of Origin.
Determine whether the company’s products qualify for preferential programs. 
Support in managing the Duty Drawback Program. 
Assist in preparation of training material and record training. Participate in training to stay updated on relevant trade compliance laws & regulations. 
Conduct internal reviews to identify risks.
Develop corrective action plans based on finding and follow actions through until complete. 
Maintain auditable standards, prepare for internal and external audits. 
Establish and performs the standard work to Pre and Post Entry process for imports. Develop, establish, and monitors adherence to standard work for exports – including, but not limited to, USMCA, COO and other shipping documentation. 
Develop KPIs, monitor metrics and performs periodic performance reviews on active Customs Brokers.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Job responsibilities are carried out in a work environment that consists of both recurring and non-recurring work situations. Job involves a moderate degree of detail and complexity. Job tasks will be performed under minimal supervision. Decisions are made within prescribed company policy guidelines and constraints; however, independent judgment is expected in identifying and resolving discrepancies. Interpersonal Contacts:
Contacts occur with others inside of Enersys as well as with third party warehouse staff, brokers, third party service providers, and government officials. 

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum two years relevant experience in international operations. 
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
Working knowledge of the following regulations: import/export regulations, HS and ECCN classification, product origin, customs valuation, Free Trade Agreements, US EAR regulations, familiar with ACE and knowledge of effective Trade Compliance Programs. 
Candidates must have excellent attention to detail and the mental capability to troubleshoot and solve problems of high complexity or difficulty, as well as problem solve in a proactive, methodical manner. Must be able to work effectively under the pressure of deadlines and comprehend complex issues.
Candidates for this position should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be self-motivated and be capable of working as part of a team or alone.
Possess a thorough understanding of transportation finance, operations, internal systems and network functions.

Preferred Qualifications
