Remote Employment Attorney - Contract to Permanent

Special Counsel is currently seeking an Employment Attorney with at least 7 years of experience for an in-house position at a major corporation. This position is completely remote and will be converted to permanent employment.

This person should have strong experience in labor and employment law with experience in employee benefits (ERISA), immigration, and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable labor and employment, benefits, immigration, and other related laws, rules, or regulations impacting the Company.
  • Provide advice, counsel, and legal review for labor and employment, benefits, immigration, and other related matters, including for prospective candidates, employees, and other workers, terminations, transfers, discipline, restructures, layoffs, and selection processes.
  • Draft or review labor and employment, benefits, immigration, and other related documents such as employment agreements, offer letters, disciplinary/termination notices, separation agreements, employee benefits plans, and related documents, work visas, and related documents and forms.
  • Draft and review labor and employment, immigration, and other related policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Draft and support training on labor and employment, immigration, or other related laws, rules, or regulations and update and advise on any material changes in such laws, rules, or regulations.
  • Work on labor and employment, employee benefits, immigration, and other related matters or projects, as necessary.
  • Qualifications:

  • Must have Juris Doctor and be licensed in the state where they reside
  • Must have at least 7 years of relevant experience in corporate law firm and/or in-house department
  • Experience in employee benefits (ERISA), immigration, and related laws/regulations
  • Experience in litigation preferred
  • Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
