The Licensed Clinical Content Specialist (CCS) develops and updates the clinical content of Change Healthcare Clinical Products. Using medical literature review, synthesis of clinical information and data analysis and in collaboration with external peer reviewers, their role is to ensure the clinical content represents best practice standards and will meet requirements for different users, applications and contexts. The Clinical Content Specialist is also responsible for quality assurance (QA) of the content and for responding to internal and external client questions and concerns.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Utilizing the principles of evidenced-based medicine (EBM), design, develop, and update clinical content through the appraisal and synthesis of information gathered from the medical literature. Collect and incorporate feedback from external clinical reviewers and clients to ensure clinical accuracy and usability.

  • Perform Quality Assurance of clinical content and create and maintain clinical documentation, as required. 

  • Serve as a clinical resource for both internal and external customers.

  • Collaborate with Product Development (PD), Product Management (PM), Product Owner (PO), and Business Systems Analyst (BSA) as needed.

  • Participate in developing project plans, monitoring tasks and ensuring on-time delivery of clinical development projects.

  • Participate in field research that contributes to product advancement as needed.

  • What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • Licensed Healthcare professional (e.g., LPN, RN, NP, PA, PT, OT, SLP) with license in good standing required. Advanced degree preferred. 

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a clinical setting or equivalent. Knowledge of utilization/case management and managed care industry helpful.

  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must possess problem-solving and critical thinking skills; ability to step through logical pathways to determine results. 

  • Must be results oriented; effective as both a team member and independent worker with attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

  • Must have solid clinical or equivalent experience in varied clinical practice settings such as, Acute Care, Critical Care, Operating Room, and Pediatrics.

  • Must have demonstrated proficiency with various software applications, including but not limited to: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.

  • What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • Research and Evidence Based Medicine (EBM) knowledge or experience highly desirable.

  • Writing experience highly desirable.

  • Project management skills desirable.

  • Knowledge of medical coding schemes desirable.

  • Basic understanding of software development phases/life cycles desirable.
