Creative Financial Staffing has partnered with a highly acquisitive Clinical Research Organization to identify a Manager of Technical Accounting & Reporting to join their team. This is a newly created position that is open due to their tremendous growth. Why the Manager of Technical Accounting & Reporting Position?

  2. Growth: The company is in acquisition mode and is acquiring 3-4 labs/year throughout the world with plans to go public in the next 3-5 years.
  3. Role: The Technical Accounting & Reporting Manager is responsible for leading the implementation and harmonization of US GAAP accounting across the global organization.
  4. Opportunity: Reporting to the Global Controller, this role will offer complexity, variability, and visibility and will play a key role in scaling the accounting and finance department for the eventual IPO.
  5. NOTE: This role can be remote but must be able to travel to Canada quarterly and to Boston monthly.

The Manager of Technical Accounting & Reporting's responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare monthly global financial consolidation and reporting (i.e., Consolidated Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss and Cash Flow statements)
  • Lead US GAAP policy harmonization globally with a focus on process improvement
  • Lead the preparation, implementation, and maintenance of global accounting policies ensuring financial statements comply with US GAAP
  • Prepare quarterly and year-end financial reporting disclosures
  • Maintain SOX documentation; continue the design and documentation of key controls.
  • Ensure revenue accounting for customer contracts, amendments, products, and services is aligned with US GAAP accounting standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a major in Accounting or Finance
  • Public accounting experience and CPA required
  • 6+ years of total public or a mix of public/industry experience, ideally auditing or working for a publicly traded company (not required)
  • Expertise in US GAAP / IFRS technical accounting and conversion, including revenue recognition, stock compensation and equity arrangements, software accounting and capitalization, foreign currency translation, fair market value accounting, goodwill and intangible asset impairments, and purchase price accounting
