The Lead Clinical Pharmacist will lead a team focused on providing evidence – based and clinical guidance to help implement a next – generation comprehensive specialty and oncology solutions which will successfully meet clinical, quality, and financial performance objectives. This solution will help ensure providers deliver high – quality, evidence-based and cost – efficient specialty and oncology care for our clients. As such, this newly created role requires an innovative, hands – on, action – oriented clinical expert. The position will serve as a key Oncology medicine expert dedicated to helping ensure high levels of quality, affordability, and member and provider satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership oversight of a team of Clinical Pharmacist supporting Medicare and Retirement preservice pharmacy infusion prior authorization requests for cancer and rare condition members
  • Support recruiting, training, managing pharmacy team performance 
  • Ensure program clinical quality outcomes by evaluation of clinical and other data (e.g., quality metrics, claims & health record data, utilization data) to identify opportunities for improvement of clinical care and processes
  • Ensure team meets performance expectations of the client and program associated performance guarantees
  • Support clinical guidance in the creation, implementation and refinement of an Oncology / Specialty utilization management solution 
  • Support your team in partnership with other clinical managers in: Preservice chemotherapy, supportive drug, and specialty infusion with considerations toward drug sourcing, site of care and dosage according to drug policy and clinical guidelines
  • Post system auto-approval documentation audits and support clinical audits for the medical director team
  • Clinical education for RN staff

    Required Qualifications:

  • Licensed Pharmacist with PharmD. License must be in state of residence, current and unrestricted
  • 5+ years clinical pharmacy experience
  • 3+ years of people-management experience, to include building of high-performance teams, ability to implement performance improvement plans, and a drive to see employees succeed in their work 
  • 2+ years of experience administering and/or advising on chemotherapy treatment plans (utilizing/reviewing medical case notes, medication list, lab results) or specialty medications
  • Experience in utilization management
  • Experience working with evidence-based clinical guidelines for Oncology (e.g., NCCN guidelines)
  • Dedicated workspace from home
  • Access to high speed internet from home (Broadband Cable, DSL or Fiber)
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • BCOP Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist
  • Solid working knowledge of other cancer treatment plans
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to gain credibility, influence and partner with other clinical professionals
  • Experience working in managed care, medical care delivery systems, utilization management, case management, disease management, quality management, product development and/or peer review

The salary/hourly range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $94,500 to $171,700.
