We are currently seeking a VMware Solutions Architect (Remote) to join our team in Plano, Texas (US-TX), United States (US).

Join the NTT Data Services True Private Cloud Team (TPC) to help shape the hybrid and multi-cloud digital transformation journey that customers are on today. Our team is looking for a Senior Solutions Architect to help drive VMware Cloud Platform solutions into some of our largest Healthcare accounts. As part of the NTT TPC Team, you'll be supporting Solution Sales and Pre-sales in large deals, as well as working with Product Management & Engineering to help drive top Healthcare customer requirements into the product solutions cycle. Activities include partner & customer enablement, vendor management & contract negotiations, supporting customer design workshops, and Proof of Concept (PoC). This is a highly technical role and requires broad automation architecture and hands-on skills.

Our ideal Solutions Architect will be a subject matter expert of VMware SDDC stack and understands how it fits into a large enterprise customer environment and interacts with upper-layer applications. The candidate must have a solid solution engineering background to pick up new solutions at a fast pace, as well as excellent soft skills to interact with customers and TPC team.

Responsibilities:

  • NTT TPC Team Player, acting as subject matter expert for VMware cloud platform with deep product expertise as well as comprehensive knowledge of IT enabling technologies in customer deployment scenarios.
  • Drive architectural discussions supporting some of our top Healthcare customers to ensure success when adopting and expanding with VMware cloud platform solutions.
  • Facilitate and maintain vendor relationships between businesses and suppliers, negotiating pricing and contracts, creating vendor standards, and finding the best available vendors. 
  • Remotely manage/assist with small/large customer PoCs, a small percentage of onsite travel may be required depending on business needs.
  • Develop automation scripts and tools as needed in the context of small/large PoCs
  • Drive key customer requirements into product/solution design and development cycle.
  • A BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with three or more of the following technology fields: data storage, networking, cloud management (public/private/hybrid), experiences with VMware SDDC stack (vSAN/NSX/vRA/vCD/vRO).
  • Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience with the current version of Citrix XenApp/Xendesktop, VMware ESX/ESXi and Microsoft server technologies Citrix Certified Enterprise Engineer (CCEE) or Citrix Certified Integration Architect (CCIA) certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years as Solutions Architect, Systems Engineer, or Technology Consultant role, with extensive experience in VMware products, solutions, and services and ServiceNow (ITSM/ITOM/ITBM).
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience dealing with infrastructure solutions.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with operating systems, virtualization, security, networking, and management frameworks.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Software development skills preferred, experience with APIs and automation/scripting to create tools; a strong plus.
  • Experiences/knowledge in containers and life cycle.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes networking, monitoring, and logging solutions; Experience and or familiarity with public cloud Managed Kubernetes services such as Amazon EKS, Google GKE, and Azure Kubernetes Service.
