The Sage X3 Solutions Architect Manager’s (SAM) role is to lead efforts to enable the Solutions Architect (SA) and consulting teams to successfully plan, design, develop and launch new and/or complex functionality that is required during Enterprise implementations. The SAM manages, leads, coaches, develops and supports a team of Solutions Architects including recruiting, hiring, and training newly hired team members.

The SAM will be challenged to enable the SA team to turn solutions around quickly and thoughtfully, balancing speed to market with quality, longevity, and scalability to create extraordinary customer experiences.

The SAM will serve as the architectural voice of Sage X3 solutions and provide valuable insight and guidance regarding complex solutions to the SA, development, and consulting teams as they plan and build out solutions for our customers.

Responsibilities:

L eadership, Management and Accountability (LMA) For Solutions Architects

  • Team management including hiring, utilization, engagement, development, and retention.
  • Effectively build, develop, and manage Solution Architects.
  • Performance management of team members including management of team member performance on projects and enabling/driving professional development of team.
  • Work with Consulting Manager to facilitate building of team member skills to meet criteria of current and future client delivery needs.
  • Regularly perform 1:1 meeting with direct reports to provide feedback.
  • Partner with senior management to provide career path planning and coaching to ensure consultant job satisfaction, positive morale, professional growth, engagement, and retention.
  • Develop initiatives to promote team accomplishments and communicate with clients more effectively.
  • Facilitate building of team skills to meet criteria of current and future client needs.
  • Complete performance reviews and provide ongoing informal/formal feedback.
  • Exemplify camaraderie and teamwork with subordinates, managers, and co-workers.
  • Monitor and direct team members to act in accordance with company policies, initiatives, processes, and methodology.
  • Share knowledge with direct reports, consulting, and technical teams; raise critical issues and suggest process improvements.
  • Client Satisfaction

  • Proactively seek/create opportunities to participate in client interactions to ensure highest levels of customer satisfaction are achieved.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet and/or exceed client expectations.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with key client/partner/stakeholders to ensure effective communication channels exist and client/partner satisfaction is achieved.
  • Implement communication strategies with client to effectively promote team accomplishments and review project status/delivery milestones on a regular basis (written status reports, client meetings, conference calls etc.).
  • Implement on-going process to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure that the practice retains 100% of on plan customer (no Reseller of Record defections).
  • Develop in-depth understanding of client business needs and position self as a key decision-making partner.
  • Manage project budget(s) to meet or exceed parameters of project scope; proactively communicate changes of delivery status to client and management.
  • Architectural Strategy

  • Develop strategy and processes for customer solution design, implementation, and support.
  • Develop value-driven architectures of varying size and complexity to enable successful business outcomes for enterprise customers.
  • Educate Net at Work teams on the value proposition of Sage X3 and participate in architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed to achieve successful business outcomes for the customer.
  • Guide enterprise application integration and collaboration.
  • New Revenue Opportunities for Products or Services

  • Overall revenue and budget responsibility for solution architecture engagements with the assigned clients.
  • Work with Consulting Manager and Practice Director to develop new product and/or service revenue opportunities.
  • Understand key business drivers and demonstrate business acumen to positively impact profitability.
  • Work with senior management and account team to develop and implement overall pricing strategy that aligns with profitability objectives.
  • Develop Solutions Architecture Best Practices

  • Develop best practices for the structuring of development engagements to ensure they are properly scoped to meet the customer’s requirements and profitability.
  • Collaborate and provide valuable insight with the consulting, development and consulting teams to help deliver best in class experiences to our customers.
  • Provide thought leadership in terms of looking beyond the technology and considering the business value our solutions create for our customers.
  • Capture and share best-practice knowledge with direct reports, technical, development, consulting teams, and senior management.
  • Collaborate with teams, as to how solutions can be improved to better serve customers and the Net at Work team.
  • Develop subject matter expertise on Sage X3 and third-party products to serve as final escalation point for SAs for technical development implementation issues.
  • Position Requirements: 

    Formal Education & Certification

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or equivalent work experience required.
  • Knowledge & Experience

  • 7+ years of ERP application deployment experience. Sage X3 ERP implementation or implementation of similar ERP solution (Epicor, Infor, Syspro, Chempax, Workday, ProcessPRO, MS Dynamics).
  • 5+years of experience working as a Solutions Architect guiding architectural decisions for enterprise applications, or similar role and managing a team of a Solutions Architects.
  • Experience mentoring and managing a high-performing, high-impact team to clear roadblocks, grow their skills, and enable them to be successful
  • Strategic mindset and ability to collaborate and share technical feedback as a super user with technical teams to help guide and steer the solution roadmap.
  • Ability to communicate timelines, understand dependencies, and manage multiple project workstreams.
  • Ability to collaborate with teams across the organization to ensure solutions are designed with sound architectural specifications that meet the needs of our clients
  • Proficient knowledge of engineering best practices and methodology
  • A consultative background with a record of delivering solutions within defined timeframes and budgets.
  • A keen understanding of business needs, and ability to ensure technical solutions, strategies, practices deliver business and customer value.
  • Experience leading requirements definition and design sessions.
  • Successful track record of delivering on agreed upon business objectives and performance on key metrics.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical staff and with members of interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to effectively document technical designs.
