What you will do

The Technology Professional Services Manager is part of our Technology Professional Services team within the Technology and Solutions Engineering group at Johnson Controls. Due to our growth we are adding this position to our team, as we continue to create "Smart Buildings" for our customers. This is a US based remote position.

Supports the leadership team to define and implement new business strategies to drive growth and increase market share. Establishes and maintains long term relationships with strategically important customers and suppliers to influence opportunities.

Under general direction, leads all aspects of the Technology Professional Services program and provides leadership to optimize growth and increase market share of Technology Professional Services. The program has four main areas of focus: Technology Master Planning, Technology Design Services, Technology Construction Services and Technology Services.

Works with Account Executives and other stakeholders to identify, qualify and close opportunities. Leads the development and execution of sales strategies, programs, processes and tools to achieve the business objectives for Technology Professional Services program. Drives the development and coaching of the value proposition for Technology Professional Services into the targeted sales channel(s). Drives pipeline growth and maturation. Educates the targeted Account Executives and stakeholders in Technology Professional Services placement, timing and fit for target customers.

This role does not have direct reports, but consistently engages with both internal and external stakeholders as a program manager and technical expert. The Technology Assessment Lead engages with Johnson Controls customer stakeholders including the decision makers/buyers as well as technical subject matter experts. This person also coordinates and leads matrixed, ad hoc teams on large, complex, multi-site assessment projects. The Technology Professional Services Manager supports sales teams by helping to qualify Technology opportunities and serving as technical expert. Finally, the Technology Professional Services Manager helps drive the overall Technology program on continuous improvement, innovation, and profitability.

How you will do it

  • Leads the strategic and financial planning process for the Technology Professional Services business. Works with Sales Management in the development of the Technology Professional Services strategic and financial plan.
  • Develops the value proposition for Technology Professional Services offerings. Continues to identify tangible outcomes to improve the value proposition tailored to specific buyers. 
  • Supervises development of all sales and marketing tools, deliverables and contracts to sell and execute Technology Professional Services opportunities. 
  • Leads the monthly and quarterly forecasting and ops review process for the Technology Professional Services business. 
  • Drives monthly/ quarterly sales performance KPIs to plan and forecast. 
  • Drives Technology Professional Services pipeline growth. Educates field resources to help to identify, qualify and sell Technology Professional Services.
  • Provides input & feedback into future Technology Professional Services offering development & refinement. 
  • Verifies that Account Executives are engaged in consistent tool and process usage and follow processes to improve Technology Professional Services sales performance.
  • Actively leads the Technology Professional Services engagement on opportunities which involves developing scopes, cost estimates, managing matrixed team members and developing a plan that will successfully deliver the successful engagement. 
  • Leverages and understands all requirements of sales channels outside
  • Aligns with and drives consistent process, tools and deliverable usage to establish seamless execution between sales and operations. 
  • What we look for

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience 
  • Five to eight years of experience within consulting on managed services, technology design services
  • Experience with SAFe--Scaled Agile Framework a plus
  • Experience in any of these vertical markets a plus: Healthcare, Aviation, Education or Sports Entertainment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in program management and analytical skills, working in a highly matrixed organization 
  • KEY SUCCESS FACTORS: 

  • Willing to work with a high degree of ambiguity 

  • Buildings, Technology and Construction experience to create entry point and advance the deal

  • Excellent detailed documentation skills are a key to advance the program

  • Consultative Selling experience is a plus 

  • Ability to utilize vision casting skills for customers a plus 

  • Self-Starter and ability to work independently with minimal information on several projects at once with minimal direction 

  • Ability to work across several stakeholder and channels to accomplish Technology Professional Services program goals

  • Expertise in Power BI dash boarding, Salesforce, Microsoft Forms and Power Automate, Microsoft Office tools

  • Experience in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Experience working with and leading ad hoc teams in a matrix environment
