This role is critical in amplifying our original reporting as well as sharing our brand values. You'll be in charge of our social media growth across platforms - Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook are our current primary channels but we're open to seeing what you can do with others (e.g., TikTok)! We are remote-friendly but are looking for someone who is in the Eastern Time zone (NYC, Philadelphia, Toronto, etc.) or highly overlaps with our time zone.We envision this role to grow into a full-time position, potentially including Community Manager responsibilities as we grow out our events / digital community. We'd love to shape the full-time role to fit both your growth aspirations and our team's needs. We're open to full-time but will likely work with you on a paid trial period / project first so we can get to know each other.What you'll doCreate a content strategy and calendar across The Juggernaut social media channels (Instagram, Twitter primarily; but again would love to see if you can launch easy wins with other channels) - this is a one-time activity that you iterate on occasionally with more feedback/dataCreate and publish the content (graphic design knowledge a plus): source images (or commission designs!), source and edit videos (or work with people to edit), write the copyReview content before posting (from proofreading to tone check)Respond to comments/messages (also decide what warrants response)Work collaboratively with a cross-functional team (editorial, product, ops) Sweat both the details and big picture of everything we put out Review feedback/analytics (no need to pull reports - we have them easily available) to decide what to double down on and when to change tacticsWho you areYou understand, can communicate in, and shape The Juggernaut's voiceYou live and breathe social media - you are on Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, etc. and are curious about new platformsYou have at least 2+ years of professionally managing/posting on multiple social media accountsYou are detail-oriented and always check your workYou are down to hustle/plan ahead - this role requires planning ahead for weekends (and sometimes posting when big news comes in) since news never sleepsYou are fast You are flexible in adapting to changing timelines and deliverablesYou are a proactive problem-solver and self-starterYou are passionate about South Asian history, news, culture, politics and the nuancesBonus: You have experience with Photoshop/Illustrator and video editing softwareWe started The Juggernaut because we were tired of reductive South Asian storylines.
