Rising Tide Interactive is currently accepting applications for our paid video editing internship for Spring 2022. Our interns will have the opportunity to join us in our work with Democratic and campaigns, committees, PACs, and nonprofits to develop and implement the digital strategies that win races and create change. Also: *every* internship comes with training and mentoring opportunities (this isn’t a gimmick; we want to help you learn!).  As a video editing intern, you will:

  • Watch, organize, and catalog video footage and files

  • Assist Video Editors in video production by creating assets for video projects, sourcing stock footage and imagery, managing voiceover processes, creating additional versions and cuts for a variety of online platforms like Google and Facebook

  • Create original :30 second, :15 second, and :6 second videos from start to finish

  • Organize assets for the Creative Team

  • Assist the Creative Team with other tasks that align with your skills and goals

You'll learn the ins and outs of digital video production processes and grow your video editing skillset with a dedicated team of creatives, and gain useful experience managing and maintaining organization of large files. This internship will allow you to gain useful experience in political video work for digital platforms, and you’ll leave the internship with portfolio-ready work.

Candidates should have experience in Adobe CC (primarily After Effects, Illustrator, Premiere, and Photoshop) and a strong attention to detail. Experience with graphic design and an interest in Democratic politics is a plus, but this internship can be customized to your skills and goals – if you are more interested in the creative and technical aspects of video editing, we'll give you tasks that help you grow those skills, or if you are more interested in backend process and project management, we'll pivot your tasks that way.

The important stuff:

  • Paid internship? Yep! We pay $15.20/hour

  • You can work full-time (up to 35 hours/week)

  • Spring internships typically run from January 10, 2022 to May 13, 2022, but we’re flexible with start/end dates.

  • Location: Due to COVID-19, our offices are currently closed, so all internships will be remote. We will provide a laptop and a remote work stipend of $250 to help you get set up.

Nuts & bolts:

  • Let us know what your availability is for Spring 2022.

  • Applications will be accepted until the end of the day on November 19, 2021, and must include a cover letter and resume. Final selection decisions will be communicated by December 10, 2021.
