Position Description

Pulse8 is seeking a talented Expert Business Analyst to provide application solutions for the assigned business area. Position will also be required to perform support functions and other ancillary duties as assigned. Superior technical, critical thinking and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this position. Position is primarily a combination of BI platform innovation and maintenance, external data mining and solutioning, and translating business requirements into product specific designs and configuration, detailed requirement specifications and use cases.

Prefer this be office based in Raleigh, NC, but open to a remote candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Leads clinical requirements development
  • Applies clinical knowledge to integrate clinical practice and technology into all aspects of clinical data exchange and interoperability.
  • Serves as a skilled clinical resource in support of non-clinical team members
  • Acts as a liaison between end users, clinicians and non-clinical analysts.
  • Work under the direction of the Manager to provide clinical application solutions for assigned business areas.
  • Possess expert level functional knowledge of assigned application technology.
  • Interact with business users to understand new business requirements and enhancement requests
  • Serve liaison role between application technology vendors, internal IS groups, and clinical users.
  • Translate business requirements into product-specific designs and configuration, detailed
  • requirement specifications and use cases.

  • Deliver functional specifications, design documents, clinical process workflow and related
  • documentation for new development projects and/or enhancement and modification requests

  • Interact with Systems Analysts during the software build and/or configuration process and testing process.
  • Serve as leader of team or project overseeing work performed by more junior business analysts.
  • Perform functional application configuration and configure /run reports at user request.
  • Design and execute functional, integration, and regression test plans for new application
  • functionality, product releases and enhancement and regulatory modifications using clinical

    scenarios and use cases.

  • Ensure programs meet clinical specifications.
  • Demonstrate new functionality to clinical users seeking inputs on future direction.
  • Review vendor provided documentation and user manuals needed to support the product.
  • Directly interface with business users by responding to support calls escalated by the Service Desk.
  • Participate in user focus groups and requirements workshops, vendor training and demonstrations.
  • These are consistent accountabilities for all staff.

  • Assist in supporting activations and rollouts.
  • Consistent efforts to deliver quality solutions as per agreed scope.
  • Customer focus and close alignment with the customers’ business objectives.
  • Ensure efforts to continually improve domain knowledge.
  • Ensure the quality of the deliverables as per the defined defects standards
  • Document issues with resolutions and share with team members to improve team productivity.
  • Provide data to generate team performance metrics.
  • Be a key player in an Agile environment, participating in daily huddles, sprint planning, retrospectives, etc.
  • Perform a wide range of other ancillary duties in support of production runs and other company initiatives as necessary
  • Maintain oversight of overall product integrity in coordination with other products and/or downstream impacts
  • Assisting management in prioritization of tasks and development of product roadmap
  • Liaison with internal teams to ensure that requirements are aligned, understood, and coordinated
  • Research and propose relevant emerging technologies to develop technical edge for the product
  • Peer review and sign-off of others work
  • Mentor junior team members in best practices and standards
  • Demonstrated ability to see the bigger picture and have a long-term vision for future changes and enhancements
  • Understands business needs and expectations, evaluates information, uses experience in forming opinions, evaluates the benefits of alternative solutions and their impact to determine the most appropriate course of actions to achieve goals
  • Ability to translate ideas, thoughts, and feelings into language that is easily understood by team members with varying levels of technical expertise

  • Qualifications/Experience

    Academic and professional qualifications:

  • Minimum: BA or BS degree or equivalent experience, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Clinical Degree, certification and/or Licensing required
  • 5-10+ years Industry experience preferred
  • 10+ years expert level experience in providing business process support for assigned product, recognized an expert in the organization in assigned product preferred
  • Understanding of SQL, database tables, data mapping
  • Expert analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare data and value-based models
  • Experience with EHR workflows
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • May require after hours on call support8+ years’ experience in providing high-level business process support for assigned product/project, recognized an expert in the organization in assigned product/project preferred
  • Agile/Scrum/Kanban
  • Experience using SDLC software such as TFS or Jira
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Knowledge of medical coding terminologies such as LOINC, CPT, SNOMED CT, RxNorm, and ICD-10
  • Knowledge/experience with C-CDA, HL7, and FHIR
  • Travel requirements:

  • Travel 2-3 times per year.
  • All Pulse8 employees attend two company summits per year in various locations.
