The Main Responsibilities

As a Business Analyst Intern in our North America Operations organization, you will work collaboratively with our automation operations team to handle automation opportunities across the business and within North American Operations. Tasks during the 10 weeks will have impact on the business through the process of Review, approve, plan, document and implement automation opportunities for NAO. Business Analyst interns will have the potential to create and improve our processes through data research and solution suggestions. The ideal intern will have technical skills with common languages in the industry.  You will need a high level of engagement and ability to take initiative, ask questions and work in a team environment.

- Responsible for conducting or assisting in the documentation of simple to moderate business analysis projects under direct supervision
- Works with other team members and subject matter experts to resolve certain questions that are received
- Responsible for understanding source data structures and models, producing raw data, data mining, data compilation, completing a variety of analyses (many times using disparate data sources), and creating effective presentations to answer the complex questions posed by the business
- Communication expertise, process documentation, exploration, and requirements gathering jobs
- Scheduling and hosting business meetings with other team members and business clients as necessary
- Producing meeting notes after the call to all stakeholders
 

What We Look For in a Candidate

•    Education Requirements 
o    Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior level education status at the start of the internship, graduating August 2022 – May 2023.
o    Major/Degree: In pursuit of degree in Business, Finance, Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

•    Proficiency and understanding of: 
o    Strong Microsoft Suite knowledge
o    Reporting/data expertise is a plus 
o    Conduct detailed data analysis and develops reports Microsoft Office suite (Excel with Analysis Toolpack functions, pivot and chart wizards; PowerPoint; Word; Access; Project) and other reporting and data analysis tools
o    PowerBI experience is a plus 
o    SQL writing expertise is a plus
o    Jira/Confluence is a plus 

•    Professional Attributes
o    Strong drive for results and taking initiative
o    Attention to detail with good organizational capabilities. 
o    Ability to prioritize with good time management skills.
o    Solid understanding of a particular technology discipline and is proactive in seeking out learning opportunities.
o    Good problem-solving skills and ability to methodically work through complex issues.
o    Curious Minded- must be able to question the norm
o    Ability to take direction and produce results from it
o    Ability to be inquisitive, critical thinking, and adaptable
o    Ability to collaborate and have agility while making effective decisions

•    Work Setting
o    Ideally the position will be in one of the following offices: Remote- Work From Home
o    Intern must be able to work 30-40 hours be week during the 10-week program (June – August)
o    Intern must have reliable transportation to/from work location (Lumen does not provide transportation to/from Lumen office locations)
