Essential Function: The Accounting Support Specialist’s primary responsibilities include providing accounting support to franchisees, responding to franchisees’ requests, and educating franchisees on their financial statements in order to help them run a sustainable and profitable business. This position will also facilitate the accounting portion of new owner training, and help new owners get set up with their accounting systems. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and excel in a fast-paced environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist owners with technical, how-to accounting questions
  • Assist owners to understand their financial statements, to help them make better business decisions
  • Facilitate the accounting portion of new franchisee training
  • Help to develop and implement a new chart of accounts for franchisees
  • Handle day-to-day accounting of our two corporately owned labs

 

Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online, generally accepted accounting principles, and financial statements
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment and be a self-starter who works with integrity while also being a strong team player
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage expectations
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to build and develop relationships
  • Strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
  • Attention to detail
  • Extremely strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications – Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams

 

Education and Qualifications:

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience
  • At least 3 years of accounting experience preferred; previous bookkeeping experience required
  • Intermediate level Excel skills, including VLOOKUPS and Pivot tables

 

Compensation: This is a full-time role with an annual salary range of $50,000–$60,000. This position includes company standard benefits:

  • Ten days of paid time off per year to start, in addition to 9 paid holidays. Up to twenty days paid time off with tenure.
