Salary Range: $25-$60 (depending on location, education, and certifications)Location: Remote VRS (Washington)Hours Requirement: 15 hours minimum of interpreting services required per week (at leaderships discretion).Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesIn ASL: interpret between American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken EnglishAdhere to all employment labor laws and FCC regulations as they apply to Video Relay Services* Comply with Sorenson standards and policiesDemonstrate full compliance with Sorenson Communications customer service guidelinesMaintain any national, state, provincial or local licensure and/or certification requirementsPossess the ability to work effectively in an environment with limited oversight that may include, but is not limited to call monitoring, mentoring and evaluationsKnowledge/Skills/ Abilities RequiredIn ASL: School Diploma or equivalent3+ years interpreting experience (previous VRS experience preferred)NAD level IV/V; or a RID CI, CT, CI/CT, CSC; or NIC, NIC Advanced, NIC Master; or CASLI COI; or hold a state interpreter certificate at the Intermediate or Master Certificate skill levels or have the professional interpreting experience to become a Sorenson VRS interpreter, subject to skill set verification and screeningConfident at being able to troubleshoot basic technical issuesAble to work in an environment that is fast paced, dynamic, highly regulated, and customer service focusedSit for extended periods of time at a desk using computer and video equipment while processing VRS callsInterpret in ASL and spoken English for extended periods of timePositive attitude, team player, good interpersonal communication skills and able to work across company departmentsCanadian Interpreters must be active members of CASLI in good standingOther General Requirements/Additional NotesThis position has access to highly confidential, sensitive information relating to the employees and customers of Sorenson Communications. It is essential that applicant possess the requisite integrity to maintain the information in strictest confidence and follow all call processing protocols.Non-Center - At Home Positions Only:Have or have the ability to get high speed internet (meeting Sorenson standards-minimum 10Mbps Up and Down)Able to work minimum hours per week (15PT) and maintain a flexible work schedule in order to meet the demands of the VRS industryHave lockable room in your home that can be dedicated during working hours.
