Job Description: DevOps Cloud EngineerThis role can be located in either our Bethlehem, PA Regional office or our Holmdel, NJ location. The Cloud Automation Engineer is responsible for managing design and engineering activities related to cloud initiatives and the DevOps suite of tools used to deploy applications to the cloud. Key Responsibilities:Responsible for designing, building, and supporting advanced cloud automation workflows and tools used to support automated CI/CD pipeline application deployments into AWS using Jenkins, Artifactory, Puppet, Packer and TerraformResponsible for designing and implementing enterprise-wide layered cloud image management and deployment optimization system with support for public/private software repositoriesDesign, development, and support of automation modules using Puppet Enterprise integrated with enterprise metadataAdhere to the process and security standards when building application infrastructure in AWSServe as enforcer for DevOps practices to prevent "technical drift"Maintain key service level agreementsOnboarding of new applications into standardized release pipelineWork closely and collaborate with technical peers, business operations and enterprise testing teamsProvide guidance and direction to App Dev teams in regard to DevOps processes and technical/pipeline standardsParticipate in team wide Change Management process as both implementer and verifier ensuring changes are completed efficiently and correctlyKeeper and enforcer of the technical and tools standardsParticipate in security reviews for application security groupsMinimum 4 - 5 years' experience with DevOps practices and automation toolingExperience with Terraform or Cloud Formation scriptingPuppet Development experienceExperience with DevOps orchestration tools such as JenkinsExperience with AWS cloud servicesExperience with managed container services (ECS, EKS, and Fargate) is a plus Experience with Thick AMIs (Amazon Machine Images)Familiarity with PackerUnderstanding of application code and build scriptsStrong understanding of infrastructure components and how they are architected in AWSMust be able to multi-task and work well with changing priorities in a fast paced, 24x7 environmentExperience with public cloud migrations/transformationsMust be highly collaborative and be able to work in a team environment, with technical and business peopleExperience with java, python, .Net scriptingExcellent communication, problem solving and customer service skills with the ability to translate technical detail into non-technical informationA strong ability to learn new technologiesStrong ability to coordinate activities in a coordinated and highly visible mannerEducation:Bachelor's degree in computer science or workforce equivalent Technical certifications preferredGuardian has been helping people protect their futures and secure their lives for more than 160 years.
