About the Position

The Driver Recruiter is responsible forunderstanding the driver and other warehouse-related markets, knowing where and how to best reach CDL drivers and for leveraging those relationships to build a pipeline of qualified candidates. This position may be responsible for the recruitment of company drivers, owner operators, experienced fleet owners, and other hourly positions. This position will interact with site operations, fleet safety management, driver recruiting agencies, and human resources in order to identify, qualify, and hire highly qualified truck drivers. This position may also support retention and recruitment efforts across all non-exempt, warehouse-related roles.

Functions

  • With a focus on Drivers, confer with Kenco Transportation Leadership to identify driver and other warehouse associate needs, search strategies, and assignments
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Kenco leaders, vendors, organizations, and other team members to create a partnership that yields success, predictable results and credibility
  • Develop an effective pipeline of qualified drivers potentially available for hire as business needs dictate
  • Track calls generated from all forms of advertising.
  • Develop and maintain a network of contacts to help identify and source qualified leaders
  • Be available to receive calls and contact drivers outside of normal business hours
  • Provide complete, accurate, and credible information to candidates about the company and driving positions
  • Prescreen driver candidates through daily phone interviews and work with Human Resources, and Hiring Manger for collaboration and approval
  • Participate with hiring managers in the interview process utilizing specific operational and safety driver questions.
  • Use effective communication approaches that include proactively keeping others informed, and appropriately expressing ideas and thoughts, both verbally and in written form on a timely basis
  • Participate in the development of ongoing creative and cost-effective recruiting and hiring strategies
  • Leverage and maintain online recruiting resources to identify and recruit the best drivers.
  • Partner with Leadership and HR to develop, implement and modify ongoing retention strategies
  • Reaching out to hiring managers in Kenco Transportation to develop a list of who they have talked to and to ask for a running update.
  • Maintain record of driver employment verification including outreach to employers, HR, work numbers used to verify a drivers employment.
  • Maintain all DOT and non DOT drug screens used to qualify drivers
  • Ensure all background checks including personal records, MVR, and DAC reports are completed
  • Participate in other HR activities as assigned
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or two to five years of related experience
  • 2-5 Years Combined Experience in Fleet Operations or Driver Recruiting
