This position is within the Clinical Portfolio Management Office supporting the Structural Heart Aortic Global Clinical Research Department.

This role can be remote based.


Preferred locations:Santa Rosa, CA; Mounds View, MN


Ability totravel up to 25% (primarily domestic and may have some international travel).


**A Day in the Life**


Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.


+ Leads or leverages cross functional teams to evaluate, develop and manage projects for key business processes.

+ Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team and line management.

+ Reviews status of project and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.

+ Monitors projects from initiation through delivery.

+ Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction, goals and objectives.

+ Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers and clients.


Additional responsibilities include:


+ Lead day-to-day management of clinical operational excellence portfolio.

+ Execution of operational excellence strategy.

+ Oversee the implementation of business process improvements including design, project plans, training and sustainability metrics.

+ Business process owner responsible for implementing standardized tools, visualization dashboards, reports, and executive review documents to assist in decision making, measure portfolio performance and drive business results.

+ Provide proactive analysis and strategic recommendations to drive continuous improvement.

+ Perform regular analysis to ensure complete and accurate reporting of portfolio health.

+ Manage cross-functional projects and initiatives that involve close collaboration with IT, Finance, clinical PMO(s) and clinical research teams.

+ Track issues, seek out root cause and oversee corrective action plans; liaise with internal business partners, external vendors, and technology teams to resolve system related issues.


**Must Have (Minimum Requirements):**

+ Bachelors degree required with a minimum of **5** years of program/project management (i.e., operational excellence) experience within the healthcare industry or advanced degree with a minimum of **3** years of program/project management (i.e., operational excellence) experience within the healthcare industry.


**Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications):**


+ Experience in a Program or Project Manager role within Operational Excellence and/or Clinical Research in the medical device industry

+ Experience implementing or executing Operational Excellencestrategy includingimplementation of new process, tools and portfolio dashboards

+ Experience as a team lead overseeing projects and deliverables

+ PMP, PgMP, Lean Six Sigma certifications

+ Internal Medtronic employees with program management and reporting experience in Clinical Research

+ Resource Management, Demand/Capacity Planning, Financial ProFormas

+ Strong knowledge of Microsoft tool suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, PowerBI, Project, Teams)

+ Siebel CTMS (Clinical Trial Management System), Spotfire, Tableau or similar data visualization tools, Smartsheet, or other PPM tools

+ Strong analytical capability and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
