Staples’ Cyber Security team is a collaborative partner and revenue accelerator for Staples. We combine our unique expertise and knowledge of the business with innovative technology and risk-based, customer-focused solutions to protect our infrastructure and secure our assets.

What you’ll be doing: 

Responsible for designing and implementing information systems that will adequately support the cyber security of the organization. Analyzes system requirements and defines system architecture that will meet business needs, including server infrastructure, capacity planning, storage requirements, and networking protocols. Ensures that architecture project roll-outs meet security standards and be effectively integrated with current applications. Requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to Manager. A specialist on complex technical and business matters. Work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group.

What you bring to the table:

  • Designs and oversees implementation of enterprise information security architectures and solutions
  • Recommends modifications to application development, database design, networking, or infrastructure architecture with the goal of complying with internal information security policies and standards
  • Monitors emerging products, technologies, or best practices that will improve security for the organization and its stakeholders
  • Assists senior leadership in the development of security policies, standards, and strategies
  • Performs or participates in security audits, identifies security gaps, and develops and implements risk mitigation solutions
  • Performs work with a high degree of latitude
  • Handles the most complex issues
  • Possesses expert knowledge of subject matter
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to subordinate a group
  • May act as a lead.
  • Typically reports to a department head or manager.
  • Ability to execute analytical problem decomposition and solution design
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to influence and educate application development teams, product management, and leadership
  • Qualifications

    What’s needed- Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years strong development and architecture background
  • Experience developing web/mobile applications using common web technologies (Java, Javascript)
  • Expert in application security and secure coding practices
  • Experience working with Agile development methodologies
  • What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
