About the role

To help us in that mission, we are looking for a software engineer to write features to delight and empower renters, landlords, and property managers. We’re an autonomous group, looking for someone who enjoys writing elegant and well-tested code. This is a new team being built from the ground up, so you get a chance to create a lasting impact from the get-go. The team is tight-knit with a family environment, so we’re also looking for an excellent collaborator and partner. Does this sound like you?

You Will Get To:

  • Build systems that power products used by millions of shoppers

  • Build and maintain services processing thousands of requests per second

  • Collaborate with a diverse group of engineers, product managers, designers, and testers in one of the fastest-growing areas of Zillow

  • Iterate quickly and ship code frequently

  • Own the quality of your feature work

  • Build automated testing to ship code quickly and confidently

  • This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.

    Who you are

  • Proven track record of high efficiency in crafting, coding, and debugging web applications

  • Curious about new technologies and possess a growth mindset

  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills

  • Experience building scalable web services

  • Qualifications

  • 5 years of proven experience delivering high-quality, high-scale production code

  • Proficient with an object-oriented language like Java, Python, C++, or C#

  • Experience with front-end frameworks like React.js

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.

  • In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.
