Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Sourcing Manager I - IT Contracting to our location in Renton, WA, California, Oregon, Alaska, Montana, Texas or New Mexico.

We are seeking a Sourcing Manager II PSJH who will be responsible for preparing, negotiating, and administering multiple contracts pertaining to the various key suppliers. This would include working with the contract through all phases until completion (pre-proposal through closeout) with a variety of suppliers. The incumbent performs risk assessments of proposal/contract terms and conditions. They will also be responsible to formulate and execute strategies to minimize potential risks and maximize value and expenditure to the business.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Directing timely and comprehensive negotiation and administration of either Medical Surgical, Physician Specialty (Implantable Devices) IT contracting, Purchased Services and Capital Equipment Sourcing supplies and services agreements (dependent upon job listing for area of responsibility).

  • Developing and maintaining information management and reporting systems which support vendor value management programs.

  • Fostering effective utilization of operating and capital funds and providing financial analysis of purchasing and contracting activities.

  • In this position you will:

  • Support program business area goals and front-end strategic assessments of business pursuits; takes a leadership role in the preparation of responses to solicitations.

  • Work with customers, management, and program teams to resolve issues, secure approvals, and ensure successful contract execution; serves as point of contact for suppliers during all phases of the program. Can manage mid to large level contract categories including strategy supplier and stake holder relationships. Able to engage internal and supplier stakeholders to manage contract needs such as new technology, contract compliance, utilization and clinical support. Interacts directly with Physicians and Executive Leadership.

  • Ensure adherence to contracts processes.

  • Responsible for the day to day management of contract negotiations with clients (includes dealing with pricing, terms and conditions, and reviewing subsequent contractual documents).

  • Facilitate system-wide standardization through coordination of contracting/purchasing activities and enterprise activities.

  • Communicate with internal stakeholders, including CIO/Staff, Office of Legal Affairs and clinical stakeholders to ensure that individual clients needs and company goals are being supported and addressed.

  • Understand and represent EIS Legal Contracting Purchasing business needs on an enterprise and regional basis and represent the needs and capabilities of Legal Contracting Services.

  • Support EIS contracting and vendor value management program through successful execution and transparency, relying of effective interpersonal and communication skills to overcome resistance to use of methodologies. Manages competitive bid processes and analyzes various proposals and data sets. Support the Sr. Manager/Director to collaborate with Facility stakeholders and Leadership to engage appropriate input in sourcing initiatives.

  • Collaborate with the appropriate analytic resources to help develop the necessary periodic contract compliance reports for key stakeholders. Collaborate with the Sr. Manager/Director to establish and monitor appropriate contracting policy.

  • Interact with VPN Network Partners members on contracting participation and compliance. Interact with GPO partner to develop contracting strategies and contracts. Be responsible to manage project and savings trackers.

  • Demonstrated ability to elicit, analyze and communicate business requirements from multiple customers across disparate functions. Leads cross functional teams across departments. Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis. Proven experience in leading teams through large projects. Work with Sr. Manager to develop and lead long term contract strategy. Excellent attention to detail that demonstrates accuracy and precision.

  • Act independently using approved process and requirements to successfully lead contract category work. Acts as the lead when Sr. Manager is not available. Proven ability to manage and lead complex RFIs, RFPs, SLAs, and RFEs resulting in well negotiated contracts and /or statements of work (SOW). In excess of $1M savings. Excellent understanding of business and department strategy. Can anticipate problems before they arise and address them proactively.

  • Possess a strong technical aptitude; can confidently communicate project requirements with stakeholders and make recommendations. Demonstrated ability to leverage key supply chain analytical tool such as Scout, Vizient, and Valify. Engagement, lead and manage key relationships with higher level of leaders across system - CPS VP's, Sr. level department ministries. Manage mid to large level contract categories including strategy supplier and stake holder relationships. Able to engage internal and supplier stakeholders to manage contract needs such as new technology, contract compliance, utilization and clinical support. Ability to interact directly with Physicians and Executive Leadership.

  • Support the IT On-Boarding process to determine security, feasibility and redundancy.

  • Qualifications:

    Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Finance or equivalent educ/experience

  • 5 years experience in Contract Management or a blend of healthcare and corporate contracting responsibilities

  • 1 year Project management or team management experience in a Leadership role

  • Proven experience in leading teams through large projects
