What you will do

:

Establish and maintain project collateral to map processes and document process characteristics and defects/opportunities within Johnson Controls Building Solutions business in North America. Facilitate and support improvement projects, working with other Continuous Improvement (CI) team members (BB/MBB), which align with business strategies and priorities. Ensure integration and alignment vertically and horizontally with Program Management Office (PMO) standards, across the organization. Identify and track performance metrics to measure project success. Ensure customer-centric programs are thoroughly documented and well executed. Utilize Lean, Six Sigma and change management methodologies and have appropriate levels of certification for the role.

How you will do it:

  • Generate detailed process documentation/mapping and maintain current collateral throughout the project/process lifecycle.
  • As part of the PMO, support major projects to ensure understanding of current state process, identification of improvement opportunities, and tactical execution of identified solutions, in accordance with Continuous Improvement program directives.
  • Establish a system and method to catalogue and maintain all intellectual property generated by the entire Continuous Improvement team in support of improvement initiatives.
  • Provide tactical support of continuous improvement activities which follow Operational Excellence methods and concepts. Support the delivery of large, complex cross functional projects and initiatives under the guidance of a Black Belt/Master Black Belt May lead and deliver medium, less complex projects and initiatives
  • Support the OpEx organization in executing strategic planning and highly complex tactical project execution in accordance with program directives to ensure organization objectives are met. Contribute to the support of projects that meet strategic objectives.
  • Contribute to Operational Excellence performance metrics to ensure that organization objectives in the areas of cost, efficiency, quality, and customer focus are met. Ensure all financial reporting and models are properly approved by FP&A and delivered on time.
  • Support communications with team and management to review and examine project progress. Also provide publish-ready communications to update and promote program/projects.
  • Display continuously the characteristics of a change leader in the organization.
  • The ability to travel, up to 50% as required.
  • Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in relevant discipline from an accredited university. 
  • Green Belt or equivalent accreditation is required. Black Belt training or certification beneficial.
  • Minimally five (5+) years leadership experience with at least three years of process improvement and/or project leadership experience.
  • Technical Skills:

  • Process documentation skills - Strong ability to conduct value stream/process mapping sessions and produce publish-ready documentation.
  • Ability to analyze data and provide insight into how it can be utilized to define processes and determine financial impact of projects
  • Project management skills - Ability to lead projects within budget and in a timely manner
  • Ability to interface with Business and Technical Leaders throughout all levels of the organization
  • Proficient with use of computer and software applications including Visio, Microsoft Project, Minitab, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
