Financial Services - Banking / Investment / Finance
(No Timezone Provided)

Mission Lane LLC is a fintech on a mission (no pun intended) to increase access to financial tools that help people thrive. We are raising the bar on fair credit access, easy money management, and convenient income discovery. Our philosophy is simple: when our customers do well, we do well. And we have only just begun.

We're looking for a strategic thinker with a consumer finance background and a proven understanding of fintech industry drivers to join us as Partner Bank Manager.

This is a unique opportunity to lead and influence at a company that's on the verge of becoming the household name in financial products for the 50% of Americans who are not served by traditional financial institutions.

We are now and always will be a start-up culture, so if you like being big-picture and hands-on at the same time, and you get excited about helping make a real difference in people's lives - we want to hear from you!

All Mission Laners may choose to work 100% remotely, at one of our offices in Richmond, VA or San Francisco, CA, or in whatever combination works best for them.

The Impact You'll Make

You'll build and own win-win relationships between Mission Lane and the bank partners that support our leading-edge financial products, as we continue to innovate and grow our credit card and broader product portfolio.

Day-to-day, You Will

  • Develop and execute our partner bank strategy, ensuring we have a well managed operational process - balanced with our need for speed, agility, and cost efficiency.
  • Lead and manage our individual sponsor bank strategies and relationships (credit card, debit card, etc.), including leading the sourcing of new bank partners.
  • Coordinate with internal partners across Operations, Credit, Product, Legal, Engineering, and Data Science to understand and deliver new products and other solutions with our sponsor banks and/or other partners.
  • Drive initiatives across the full project life cycle: develop the ideas, drive the analysis, build the business case, and lead the implementation.
  • Oversee and execute the day-to-day operational requirements of our partners, develop and deliver recurring and ad-hoc reports on progress against goals.
  • Step outside your comfort zone, learn new things, get your hands dirty, and bring a high level of energy and "can do attitude" to work on a daily basis.
You're Set Up For Success If
  • You've leveraged problem solving, judgment, and analytical skills in a fast-paced, growing business.
  • You have 5+ years Operational, Process, and Stakeholder Management experience with a leading-edge consumer finance company.
  • You have 5+ years experience analyzing operational/financial data, developing and presenting recommendations to stakeholders related to complex, sensitive issues.
  • You've worked with external partners to develop, negotiate, and contract win-win solutions.
  • You have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • You have a Bachelor's degree.
You'll Get Bonus Points For
  • Prior direct involvement in sponsor bank engagements.
  • MBA or other advanced degree
  • A background in financial services consulting
We Offer
  • A culture of fun and camaraderie
  • Flexible work location (even after the pandemic)
  • A generous parental leave policy
  • Unlimited paid time off
  • Excellent opportunities for career growth
  • A team that values learning and approaches work with a "growth mindset"
  • A competitive salary, equity, and a full benefits package (health, dental, vision, 401k)
More About Mission Lane

Mission Lane is based in the U.S., with offices in Richmond, Virginia & San Francisco, California. Founded in December 2018, we've rapidly grown to over 1 million customers.

It all started with a realization: nearly fifty percent of the adult population in the U.S. doesn't have access to a clear line of credit. And by "clear" we mean credit without crazy fees that only increase debt. Most traditional credit card companies either overlook or overcharge this group because they have less-than-prime credit scores or no score at all. We decided this just wouldn't do.

We understand that everyone doesn't have the same opportunities. We also know that everyone joins us at different stages of their financial journeys. Providing access to clear credit was a critical first step, but our work isn't done. We are actively developing new products designed to meet our customers where they are, according to their needs.

We get it - life happens. That's why Mission Lane is hard at work paving a better way forward.

Just like for our customers, Mission Lane creates opportunities for our employees to learn, grow, and prosper. We strive to create an environment that brings out the best in everyone, everyday.
  • Mission Lane is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to sex, race, color, age, national origin, religion, physical and mental disability, genetic information, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity/assignment, citizenship, pregnancy or maternity, protected veteran status, or any other status prohibited by applicable national, federal, state or local law.

Mission Lane is not currently sponsoring new applicant employment authorization for this position. And please, no third party recruiters.
