Description

The Cloud Engineer utilizes solid business knowledge and expert technical experience in security to help lead and develop the target state security architecture. Responsible for building and maintaining containers, serverless and firewall architectural standards and pattern for cloud security.

Works closely with all areas of Enterprise Information Protection (EIP)’s to ensure security initiatives are in line with all other key initiatives that may have interdependencies

The Cloud Engineer determines security architecture requirements by evaluating business strategies and requirements.

The Cloud Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Responsibilities

  • The Cloud Engineer plans security systems by evaluating network and security technologies; developing security requirements for cloud security, IAM, Encryption, adhering to industry standards. Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
  • Develops security architecture strategies that align to enterprise architecture strategy and the company's business strategy for cloud, specifically with containers, encryption and serverless

    Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1-5 years experience with technical cyber security architecture
  • Experience integrating Cyber Security technologies with existing technologies
  • Experience implementing Cyber Security technologies with enterprise-wide impact
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
  • Strong knowledge and experience with the configuration of security controls and secure migration of enterprise applications to one of the major cloud providers such as Azure (preferred), Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge and experience with developing Cloud Security Frameworks using industry best practices such as those from the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) and NIST CSF and regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, HITrust and PCI. 
  • 1-3 or more years of project leadership experience
