Position Summary:

Come join the Illumina team and help improve Human Health by unlocking the power of the genome. As a member of the Total Rewards team you will serve as a leader in designing,developing, and administering the company’s benefit plans and programs for the Americas. You will be responsible for managing vendor relationships and negotiating plan coverage, services, and costs with carriers and brokers.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops, and administers the company’s benefit plans and programs for the Americas.
  • Manages strategy and design of medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement/401(k), deferred compensation, and wellness programs.
  • Monitors trends and designs programs that are focused on a culture of care
  • Ensures compliance with benefits related laws and regulations.
  • Manages vendor relationships and negotiates plan coverage, services, and costs with carriers and brokers.
  • Listed responsibilities are an essential, but not exhaustive list, of the usual duties associated with the position. Changes to individual responsibilities may occur due to business needs.

    Requirements:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 18 years of related experience and 10+ years of applicable management experience
  • Experience in managing self-insured benefits programs, preferably in life sciences or technology sector.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to effectively present information and recommendations.
  • Process and detail oriented, organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Self-directed, energetic team player and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Broad knowledge of all areas within particular Corporate sub-function or a function within an operation.
  • Typically has depth of technical knowledge in function derived from experience in non-management and middle management roles.

    Education:

  • Requires Bachelor's degree or equivalent, may require an advanced degree (Master's), in applicable field or equivalent.
