Professional Employment Group's Fortune 100 Financial Client is seeking an Operation Specialist, Payment Operations to join their team. This is a short term contract opportunity where you can work from home! PEG offers our contractors health, vision, and dental insurance.

What You Will Be Doing:

To provide the highest level of accurate and timely financial transactions while delivering superior service in partnership with other departments, branches and vendors. Payment Operations is responsible for:

  • Establishment branch banking
  • Management of branch bank relationships
  • Deposit corrections processing
  • Overall control functions of branch cashiering,
  • Bearer bond coupon processing (not held in firm name),
  • Process checks mailed to St. Louis
  • Incoming wired funds processing
  • Overnight and pick-up processing for checks issued
  • Foreign check processing
  • Home Office associate deposits
  • Disbursement and transfer of funds
Position Summary:
  • Main responsibility for processing Letter of Acceptance documents for disbursements to help with high volumes.
  • Analyzing, researching and escalating findings based on policy, procedure, regulation and law
  • Manage risk and controls by conducting daily transaction-based research
  • Responsible for effectively processing routine activities/transactions according to department guidelines. Functions may include entries to customer and/or firm accounts, performing routine calculations relating to exceptions and corrections and be able to effectively communicate with branches, internal associates and vendors
  • Collaborate with branches and internal departments on confidential matters (must have stellar customer service as they will be contacting branches (FA's or Client's of all levels)
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with internal departments, branches, senior management and vendors
  • Will be held to productivity standards (accuracy and volume driven)
Who You Are:
  • One to two years of experience in banking operations, business, finance or related experience (banking experience a plus)
  • This is a processing role so speed and accuracy is critical
  • Attention to detail is critical
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to interpret and apply guidelines, policy or regulations
  • Must be able to identify and initiate resolution to non-routine problems within broadly defined parameters
  • A moderate level of decision making is expected
  • Excellent communication skills, both through written and verbal channels
  • Must be adaptable, efficient and accurate. Must be able to multi-task and be self-driven
  • Proficient with Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Training will be on the job with associates in the department. Typically training is 1-2 days.
