UMR, UnitedHealthcare’s third-party administrator solution, is seeking a Senior Marketing Communications Specialist who appreciates the opportunity to improve people’s health through communications work. As an integral part of our Marketing Communications/Digital Solution’s team, we’re looking for a person who is fired up about partnering with business owners, product owners and project management teams to help understand the business needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • This position is responsible for marketing communications strategy, project leadership and copywriting (or overseeing copywriting) for UMR customer and member-facing communication solutions, including a wide range of print and digital marketing materials. Responsibilities include: Leading strategic collaboration efforts to maintain and evolve UMR’s value storyDeveloping customer and pre-customer facing materials describing and marketing UMR servicesCollaborating to develop customized communications especially for large and specialty cases/national accounts, both print materials, and digital materialsPre-sale, supporting complex presentation requests for large group opportunities and national accounts
  • Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams to achieve project deadlines, and to ensure all work is consistent with UMR voice, tone and brand, as well as business strategy and customer needs
  • Work independently while at the same time knowing when to leverage Marcom/Digital Solutions teammates, cross-functional team members and direct manager
  • Stay abreast of TPA and health benefits market trends, UMR/UHC growth and retention goals 
  • Work with key stakeholders and product owners to set the vision for assigned projects, with an eye for engaging target audience and driving action/results.
  • Balance great communications pieces/copy/content with short deadlines and multiple priorities
  • Serve as a resource to UMR colleagues, as well as UHC sales and UHC marcom partners
  • You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.

    Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years copywriting, content writing, value story generation, branding, project leadership
  • 4+ years Microsoft Office Suite experience 
  • Experience in creating communications targeting businesses (B2B) as well as consumers (B2C)
  • Experience working independently and leading solutioning, staying organized and prioritizing workload
  • Ability to quickly react to changing business needs in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionality and ability to adapt to working in a matrixed environment
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Writing, or equivalent experience
  • Background in health benefits or other healthcare-related industry
  • Experience in Advanced PowerPoint design 
  • Demonstrated solid written and verbal communication skills

    Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $64,800 to $116,000. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $71,400 to $127,400. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
