The Senior Clinical Content Specialist (SCCS) is responsible for driving the development and execution of the clinical content scope in alignment with the product and content strategy to meet Change Healthcare financial and operational targets. The SCCS leads content development to meet multi product clinical content deliverables that satisfy customer and business requirements. In addition to content development management, this position is responsible to meet strategic clinical cross-functional business needs that drive product related operational success. The person in this role will not be responsible for people management tasks such as professional development planning and performance management. What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Independently, in collaboration with Clinical Leadership and other stakeholders, manages content development and release processes consisting of planning, development, execution and tracking of clinical content development projects. Contributes to clinical content scope decisions that include:

    Tracking and risk managing new content product development projects or clinical content update cycles for content products/product suite.

    Providing data and status reports to support negotiation of scope priorities and deliverable dates.

    For roles which include Clinical Lead responsibilities, works directly with and providing support to Clinical Content Development staff to ensure new and updated content is developed based on departmental and team standards. Ensure new and updated content is developed based on departmental and team standards working with additional staff as needed.

    Acts as individual contributor to develop content assignments as assigned.

  • Collaborates with Clinical Managers and Medical Directors to ensure clinical content accuracy and appropriateness for product(s) and cross-product consistency.

  • Partners with stakeholders to coordinate content production and release activities.

  • Works in collaboration with product management, product development, and other stakeholders to ensure that clinical content software and workflow requirements are defined.

  • Serves as clinical cross-functional business lead fostering operational and content knowledge integration that includes conducting/facilitating internal training on content products, advising cross-functional department on interpretation of clinical content, and identifying and facilitating opportunities for cross function collaboration that builds customer satisfaction.

  • What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • 5+ years of clinical/healthcare experience with emphasis on utilization review, case management, managed care, and/or quality assurance.

  • Minimum of 2 years clinical content development experience, or similar experience

  • What critical skills are needed for you to consider someone for this position?

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • MS Office proficiency and strong general computer skills required

  • What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • R.N. (with a professional license in good standing) or equivalent healthcare experience. Graduate degree in health care, healthcare administration or business preferred.

  • Proficiency in applying decision tree logic to content development, research capabilities, writing experience, and project management skills strongly preferred.

  • Healthcare Information Technology (IT) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience preferred.
