We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our Sharing, Access, and Identity team that owns the authentication and authorization platform services for Smartsheet. You will develop the next generation of Authentication platform built for performance and scale providing unified, secure and modern login experience for all Smartsheet capabilities including core web app, first party and third-party apps, mobile and API consumers. You will also enrich the platform with several new capabilities for our customers.

You will report to our Senior Manager, Engineering located in our Bellevue, WA office and will also have the option to work remotely from any registered location within the United States:

You Will: 

  • Build robust distributed services and systems from inception through to production
  • Champion improvements in the quality and stability of live site and promote engineering best practices
  • Participate in all stages of product development
  • Dive deep into global-scale service issues and drive resiliency, latency, and product reliability
  • Demonstrate strong customer empathy, curiosity and willingness to question and learn
  • You Have: 

  • 5+ years software development experience
  • Proficiency with object-oriented programming languages such as Java
  • Experience with authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect)
  • Familiarity with design patterns, RESTful APIs, storage systems, and cloud infrastructure
  • Recognized, taken ownership of complicated technical cross-team issues and guided them to resolution
  • Legally eligible to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis
  • BS in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent industry experience
