This individual has a broad business approach and is sought out as a functional expert. This position manages the delivery and execution of assigned projects and contributes to the achievement of Information Risk Governance (IRG) goals and objectives. 

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manages the execution and delivery of IT risk assessments including scoping assessments, creates detailed assessment procedures and related testing and reporting in accordance with professional and departmental standards
  • Leads and directs cross functional teams, large complex projects or segment teams to achieve key business objectives and reduce IT security risks
  • Successfully identifies, addresses, manages and/or escalates risks and issues within a project to the segment lead 
  • Translates highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
  • Provides staff with professional and technical expertise and guidance to ensure that project objectives and scope are satisfied. This includes assisting staff members and contractors in the development and negotiation of recommendations and responses, evaluating the performance of the team, and providing guidance regarding department and company policies and procedures
  • Creates, reviews, and approves pertinent work papers and communications of assessment results. Work papers should comply with department and professional standards for content and quality
  • Assists with the development and execution of Information Risk Governance department operations, methodology, technologies and tools. Helps drive continuous improvement efforts in alignment with direction provided by leadership and industry standards
  • Serves as a key resource on complex and/or critical issues 
  • Influences senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products and/or approaches to meet business needs and address IT security concerns
  • Leads special projects undertaken by the department and/or the Company
  • Qualifications 

  • Four or more years of relevant IT experience or IT Audit experience 
  • Experience supervising/leading individuals/teams
  • Must have a proficient understanding of IT security and control concepts and how to apply them
  • Knowledge and/or experience with IT Control and Regulatory frameworks such as Internal Controls over Financial Reporting, HIPPA, PCI, HITRUST, SSAE18, SOX

  • Assets

  • Bachelor's Degree in information technology or equivalent experience 
  • Knowledge of cloud concepts and experience in Cloud IT environments 
  • Experience working in a complex IT environment 
  • Experience in health insurance systems 
  • Relevant IT certification(s) (e.g. CISSP, CISA, CISM, CIPT, CSFP, ISA, CIA, etc.)
