Job Description
An employer is looking for an Embedded Linux Engineer for one of their technology clients in Houston, TX. This person will be part of a team responsible for new development and testing of applications on Linux Operating systems. He or she will be 70% application development focused and 30% Kernel level understanding. This person will need to have strong documentation skills and ensure documentation is up to date for all updates/changes. This position is fully remote and can sit anywhere in the US.
Minimum Requirements
At least 3-4 years SW development (on Linux and Windows) experience
Knowledge on Debian / Canonical Ubuntu Linux distributions.
At least 2 years of experience with Linux kernel and application development and debugging
Experience on driver, power management, memory, virtualization, security
Proficient with Linux administration
Proficient with C#, C++, Python, Bash scripting, and Powershell
Proficient writing Linux GTK applications
Proficient with Git
Experience automating tasks with Bash scripts and Python
Desired Skills
Knowledge on Linux virtual machine
Knowledge building Linux Kernel, creating and applying kernel patches
Knowledge managing and configuring Linux drivers from command line
Comprehend platform level specifications (UEFI/ACPI/Memory/IO) and interactions with Linux
Experience working with HP SecureBoot tools (Windows)
