As the Senior Consultant, you will join an elite team committed to changing health care through outstanding service and valuable products. You'll use innovative tools including the largest database of health care information in the world. You will perform mathematical analyses and actuarial modeling to identify statistical findings and conclusions. You'll find an accelerated actuarial development path to support you in your continuing post-graduate education and certification.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and deploy data models on large data sets
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with our broader product teams, while supporting ad-hoc analytics where needed
  • Design and run complex data programs
  • Execute creative problem solving and critical thinking on the job
  • Perform quantitative analysis on Actuarial, financial, utilization and costs data 
  • You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.

    Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years equivalent experience working in the actuary field
  • 2+ years of Actuarial / Analytical / Data Science experience
  • Ability to quickly learn and use computer software tools effectively
  • Expertise working with formulas, calculations, charts, graphs in MS Excel
  • Preferred Requirements: 

  • Experience in performing regression analyses
  • Experience in large file transfers and/or manipulations
  • Experience in handling various file formats (JSON, csv, xls, delimited text files)
  • Experience and/or exposure in dealing with health care claims experience (i.e. understanding of costs, expected claims, diagnosis codes, procedure codes)
  • Candidates on the Actuarial exam track, with a minimum of 2 exams passed
  • Acquired knowledge of healthcare pricing of groups sized 51+ 
  • UnitedHealth Group requires all new hires and employees to report their COVID-19 vaccination status.

    Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $53,300 to $95,100. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $58,800 to $104,600.
