As a member of the Office of Development’s Digital Strategy & Services team, the Senior Digital & Web Strategist will provide technical and strategic support for Stanford University’s suite of digital fundraising and engagement platforms. These include custom websites, online fundraising, email marketing, and third-party digital solutions.
Job Purpose:
With a strong user-centric perspective, this role will be responsible for overseeing ongoing and new web development projects, supporting the building and deployment of a system of marketing automation templates, managing product development backlogs, managing product onboarding and user accounts, providing technical web support and QA services, and will help lead analytics implementation projects. In addition, this role will be asked to contribute to UX/UI design and research practices, contribute to documentation and guidelines, champion best practices, and help ensure digital platforms are used in compliance with data protection and web accessibility guidelines.
Reporting to the Director of Digital Strategy, this role will have the opportunity to elevate the use of a modern suite of digital products spanning Marketo EMS, Storyblok (Jamstack) CMS, Drupal CMS, and leading-edge tools supporting one of the most successful university fundraising teams in the nation.

Your responsibilities include:
Working with vendors and web developers to manage product enhancement backlogs. Managing front-end web development enhancements to CMS websites. Partnering with collaborators and clients to ensure the successful delivery of digital experiences. Providing technical web consulting, on-boarding, and training for digital platform users. Providing UX/UI design and research leadership. Researching, deploying, and managing third party digital tools and user accounts. Identifying and addressing trends impacting conversion, journeys, and funnel completion. Partnering to design and deliver A/B campaigns. Managing email and landing page template development projects. Managing and contributing to documentation of systems and processes. Supporting the setup of analytics across web properties and providing ad hoc reporting. May supervise others. A commitment to promoting and supporting an environment of diversity and inclusion.

To be successful in this position, you will bring:
Bachelor's degree and five years of experience or combination of education and relevant experience. At least three years’ experience working with email marketing platforms (EMS) desired. Ability to understand and apply the software development lifecycle. Experience with both Agile and waterfall project management methodologies. Knowledge of modern web application component-oriented development using React/Gatsby/Angular or equivalent, GraphQL, node.js. Knowledge of modern front-end frameworks that rely on ES6, SASS, mixins, flexbox, CSS grid, aria controls, mobile first, and progressive enhancement. Working experience with version control tools and processes (Git). Understanding of how to deliver rich media content on the web (e.g., video, audio, live stream). Working experience complying with GDPR and CAN-SPAM. Excellent understanding of UX/UI best practices. Ability to define UX vision and inspire others to execute against it. Advanced knowledge of computer systems, business processes and work flow. Demonstrated Experience in designing web applications. Experience in current web technologies, such as JavaScript, CSS and HTML. Experience in designing for accessibility, ensuring adequate access to information through assistive technologies. Defining and leading user research, user testing, usability testing and analysis. Skill in developing specifications and mockups using UI design tools and/or programming in web application languages. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to bridge functional and technical resources by communicating effectively with individuals of varying systems expertise. Ability to design and document complex business systems. Proven problem solving and analytical thinking and ability to approach problems logically and systematically. Demonstrated ability to lead projects and multidisciplinary teams. Physical Requirements *:
Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks. Frequently stand/walk, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, and reach/work above shoulders. Occasionally sit, twist/bend/stoop/squat.
