The Senior Business Systems Analyst will work as part of the IT staff to assist in developing and implementing solutions that meet operational needs within our organization. The BA is involved in planning, organizing and conducting detailed analytical studies to define the problems, identify deficiencies and improve solutions which impact the enterprises effectiveness, and provide a basis for issue resolution. The BA is responsible for executing the system definition and design processes within the software development life cycle. They collaborate with users to define business requirements for system enhancements and new functionalities to achieve process improvements.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
Analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements and translation into proper system requirement specifications
Development and documentation of basic test cases to support requirement specification unit testing
Interfaces with external customers to define data exchange
Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operation time and form of desired results
Guides the design, development and documentation of system process workflows and various implementation activities that deliver business solutions required of the business
Communicate the business directives, goals, and needs to the technical team and serve as business interface from the enterprise’s operational management team managing expectations and defining business satisfaction metrics
Conduct peer review for completeness and viability of requirement specifications developed by other Business Analysts
Successfully analyze and create technical specifications/requirements for projects within set timeframes and meeting business needs
Effectively directs the research, design and successful delivery of new and innovative solutions that meet business objectives and ensure achievement of planned milestones
Production of quality test cases to support unit testing
What are the requirements needed for this position?
4+ years experience in Project Management/Business Systems Analysis in Healthcare, preferably within Revenue Cycle
Experience with technical systems; ability to identify technical solutions for business problems
Experience in EDI files including batch files, HL7, 837, 835, 277
Experience in software development lifecycle (both Waterfall and Agile)
Experience in developing and delivering presentation materials
Experience in formulating and defining systems scope and objectives through research and due diligence
Experience analyzing data to analyze trends in data, including looking for missing data and following data patterns to see where improvements may be made to algorithms and processes
What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
Bachelor's degree in Business preferred or equivalent experience in project management
Experience with EPIC, Cerner, Meditech preferred
PMP, EPIC, and/or CRCR Certification would be a plus
Excellent oral and written skills in order to effectively communicate with customers and internal staff
Strong organizational and project management skills
Ability to interact with internal staff at all levels
Self-sufficient and have the ability to work independently
Ability to understand complex file layouts and interpret operational needs from files
Experience with SQL Server a plus
