Responsibilities
What do our Colleague Communications & Engagement Manager's do?

A Colleague Communications & Engagement (CC&E) Event Manager will oversee employer of choice events for Rentokil North America related to internal communications and our corporate social responsibility efforts. This role will structure events, coordinate all moving parts, develop, and execute communications and engagement with key stakeholders for each event all to ensure participants have a world class experience. This role has a heavy emphasis on providing comprehensive communications and engagement support in planning, prepping, executing, following up and documenting each event in addition to managing the event itself.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Independent accountability for the performance and delivery of specific portfolio of events.
  • Align with event key stakeholders to gain an understanding of the event's purpose and goals
  • Outline the scope of the event, including time, date, location, and budget
  • Scout and inspect event venues for in person events or technology platforms for virtual events.
  • Work with vendors to get bids and determine best fits for the budget and goals of the event.
  • Negotiate and manage vendor contracts in partnership with procurement.
  • Coordinate event logistics and services, including technology and equipment needed to run the event, food, drinks, transportation, lodging, and event support.
  • Manage the budget and ensure event stays within guidelines; ensure vendors are paid
  • Own and manage comprehensive internal/external stakeholder engagement and communications plan to ensure a quality and smooth experience for those participating and attending each event or program including:
  • Work closely with the rest of CC&E and/or Marketing teams and extended business communicators to ensure activity and materials are coordinated and integrated
  • Drive high levels of engagement, using measurement and insight to make any necessary adjustments
  • Develop communication plan, manage, and execute all communications in alignment with our internal branding and communications protocols.
  • Maintain Communications and Engagement tracking with CC&E Team
  • Be an ambassador for the function and represent the RNA CC&E internally and externally (as appropriate).
  • Build effective relationships, work collaboratively and be a trusted partner to stakeholders, facilitating effective delivery of their communications and engagement needs.

What do you need?

  • 5+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, advertising or related positions.
  • Bachelor's Degree in hospitality management, corporate communications, marketing, business, public relations or equivalent required. Graduate degree or pursuing Graduate degree preferred.
  • Significant experience leading events and events-related activities through periods of change
  • Strong process orientation with a history of demonstrated, self-directed follow through.
  • Excellent interpersonal, management and communication skills, including the ability to write and present clear and concise professional communications to range of audience at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to communicate challenges and influence a variety of stakeholders effectively. Ability to present sound and well-reasoned arguments to convince others. Can draw from a range of strategies to persuade people in a way that results in agreement or behavior change
  • Exhibit unbridled creativity when brainstorming new ways to improve or elevate the design of an event.
  • Ability to notice the most minute details of an event, from the typeface on the invitations to the kind of salad that will be served at the reception, is essential.
  • Ability to investigate, analyze and contextualize complex issues, identify key points to be addressed and develop effective, practical, and simple plans to resolve problems, maintaining your composure when doing so.
  • Ability to establish and maintain essential relationships inside and outside the organization.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong business acumen quickly and effectively.
  • Familiarity with Google platform of applications, Smart-Sheets and comfort with virtual on-line event platforms.
  • Good technical knowledge to deliver appropriate audio visual graphic and online communications materials, including website, intra-net, print, digital and social media.
  • Must pass pre-employment background screen and drug test
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and pass motor vehicle record search
  • Travel: potential for up to 50%, depending on event delivery (virtual versus in-person)
  • Financial Responsibility: Company Credit Card; managing to budget by event/program.
