Summary

Chadwick Martin Bailey (CMB) – a growing, client-centric, and highly collaborative insights agency is looking for a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant is responsible for the general accounting operations of the company. This includes the production of monthly financial statements and management of all accounting processes, systems, records, and controls designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results.

The Contract Senior Accountant role is a 30-40 hour per week contract and will support the Director of Finance and other team members. This is a 6-month contracting starting in December 2021 This position is located in Boston, MA and reports to the Director of Finance.

Responsibilities and Expectations

Essential Duties

  • Lead and drive the month, quarterly and annual financial close process, including financial statement preparation and reporting
  • Responsible for general ledger maintenance and account reconciliation and control
  • Effectively communicate with project managers, peers and other staff
  • Ad hoc management reporting and analysis-(project reporting or financial reporting)
  • Assist with Finance related projects and act as a backup to other members of the Finance team
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
  • 5 years of directly relevant experience, ideally in a professional services setting
  • Strong general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, and banking knowledge
  • Ability to work across all levels of the organization with a “customer service” orientation
  • Experience with robust accounting or ERP software packages; Sage Intacct and/or Deltek Vision preferred but not required
  • Impactful and engaging presentation style
  • Self-motivated problem-solver, adaptable, and eager to learn new skills
  • Demonstrated capacity to positively and professionally interact with, and develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of an organization and companies that reflect a broad range of experiences and perspectives
  • Well-organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and create streamlined workflow structures and processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter who thrives in fast paced environments
  • Must be friendly, professional, and helpful to internal and external clients and visitors
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Follow through and responsiveness are a must
  • Excellent computer knowledge/skills including Microsoft Office
  • Salesforce and ADP experience a plus
