Vice President of Operations, PPE - Remote

In collaboration with PPE and local physician group leadership teams, the PPE Vice President of Operations provides leadership, direction, and support to PPE employed medical groups in order to achieve the PPE mission, strategic and operational goals of the organization. He/she facilitates an atmosphere of participative management and the development of collegial relationships. Will be visible, accessible, and committed to communicating effectively with staff. A strong emphasis on measuring, reporting, and improving organizational, staff and provider productivity. Organizes and leads major projects in areas such as systems implementation, facility needs, new business opportunities and providing contracting. Develops and manages clinical quality measures and performance achievement through a partnership with Prospect Medical's Coordinated Regional Care (CRC) business segment.

Job Responsibilities/Duties
  • In partnership with PPE President and hospital leadership, refine and execute the overall strategy of the medical group, and strengthen/align the business and clinical objectives across the care continuum, positing the hospital and medical group for long term sustainability.
  • Responsible for an effective and efficient communication strategy and tactics that optimize our physicians, APPs and clinical support staff understanding of our strategy, plans, measurement, impact to the organization and help them understand their role in helping to achieve these objectives.
  • Hardwire operational best practices in the areas of provider and staff productivity, clinical performance management and reporting (including maximization of dollars earned through plans such as shared risk, P4P etc.), adoption and utilization of clinical documentation and practice management applications.
  • In partnership with medical group finance leaders, PPE VP, Finance & Operations and PPE VP, ProFee RevCycle, institute and manage metrics and tactics to improve financial investment per provider.
  • Maintain Compliance & Quality
  • Management of the Provider Contracting Fair Market Value process and manage adherence to company policies.
  • Supervision of local market provider recruiters and alignment with agreed-upon recruitment objectives.
  • Clinic and practice operations performance management (quality, access, outcomes, integrated, high patient satisfaction)
  • Development and management of medical group quality scorecard in partnership with local medical group Medical Directors and CRC.
  • Manage the network integrity of the
  • providers of system referrals to achieve system growth objectives to
  • minimize leakage.
  • Oversight of compliance-related events/activities at the local medical group level.
  • In partnership with financial team members, development of budgets (operating and capital), staffing models, facilities and required equipment and supplies to support, and facilitate the clinical service lines and clinical operations, team.
  • Manage medical group practice acquisitions, physician recruitment, feasibility analysis, proposal development and integration of all new practice(s), physician(s) and their associated staff into the organization.
  • In concert with the hospital CEO's, create and update periodically Medical Staff Development Plans that will drive future recruiting needs.
Qualifications

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree required in business administration, finance or healthcare administration. Master's degree desirable or demonstrated leadership accomplishment in the overall improvement of financial and operating metrics in health delivery organizations preferred.

Minimum Experience: Minimum seven plus (7+) years of progressive financial and operational experience with a successful track record in operations, performance improvement and aligning operating structure to successfully deliver performance to meet or exceed organization targets. In depth knowledge of how practice/clinic operations support overall health system goal achievement and delivery of core mission. Proven ability to lead organizational change, including identifying and supporting change agents, demonstrating accountability and ownership of execution and results. Strong profit and loss understanding to enable alignment of financial performance with operational strategies and tactics to improve results. Financially astute and highly experienced in using, developing and implementing benchmarks and other tools that improve operating, financial and service performance. Proven ability to perform strategic planning and lead successful implementation. Excellent understanding of operations, transformation and change management with a proven record of demonstrating success. Excellent understanding of process optimization, and redesign with the ability to develop performance management and benchmarking to support best practices. Excellent physician relations skills and experience working collaboratively with employed and private medical groups. Knowledge of national physician practice trends, policies and issues affecting physician practices. Knowledge and experience with risk, managed care, capitation, ACO development and population health management. Strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. Excellent problem-solving skills. Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of the principles and practices of health care administration, fiscal management and government regulations and reimbursements. Knowledge of the clinic policies and procedures to manage its operations and to ensure effective patient care. Knowledge of the principles and practices of employee development enough to manage multiple departments or areas. Ability to compile data from various sources and to analyze and interpret the data in order to provide alternatives and make recommendations. Ability to learn and navigate thru information system applications. Ability to manage multiple priorities and to manage projects from initiation to completion within prescribed schedules and utilization of resources. Ability to read and interpret financial statements, ATB reporting, and financial analysis. Knowledge of government and credentialing organizations regulations related to physician practices. Knowledge of fiscal management systems and techniques. Ability to handle a stressful situation with tact and professionalism. Able to plan, organize, prioritize and direct the work of others. Able to evaluate and make recommendations for continuous quality improvements. Able to function in a leadership role influencing medical staff. Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments related to accounting, financial and business principles. Provides a strategic vision for PPE by being able to see the big picture yet being attentive to the day-to-day operations of the finance and revenue cycle departments. Functions professionally and effectively in multiple diverse and political environments. Works with Corporate IT to ensure that PPE has the IT infrastructure it needs. Will need to collaborate and develop the PPE finance IT systems. Knowledge of the principles and practices of employee development enough to manage multiple market operations and staff.
