Your Opportunity

As a Senior UX Designer, you will have a unique opportunity to shape our fast-growing Data Management platform used by tens of thousands of people across the globe. You will be important not just to the Product team, but to the company as a whole. You'll work on enhancing our product experience through continuous research and testing, and help advise our roadmap and product direction with your positive user focus.

Do you love solving tricky interaction design problems, revel in simplifying information flows, and get excited by dashboards or data visualization? Are you eager to join a large, globally-connected product team, where your contributions will make a meaningful difference? Do you ask "why?" and always look to back-up your design decisions with user insight and data? Then join New Relic's Telemetry Data Platform team, the most powerful, scalable, data platform in the industry. Our sector is complicated, but we don't believe our platform should be!

We are a growing team of designers who are paving the way to create a more user-centered platform. Our team thrives on collaboration, and digging-in to fully understand the context of any problem. We’re incredibly fortunate to work with a really diverse group of hardworking individuals who love defining amazing experiences driven by metrics, customer goals & user behavior.

What You’ll Do

  • Translate user insight into user journeys, workflows, and overall experiences via sketches, wireframes, high fidelity designs and prototypes
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, researchers, and writers both remotely and in person
  • Evangelize a user-centric way of working via user research, continuous measurement and testing, working closely with your team to keep them honest
  • Be a passionate advocate for user centricity, but know when to look beyond user requests or anecdotal feedback to discover the true problem
  • Support and help drive consistent design standards alongside an evolving design system
  • Apply both big-picture design thinking and attention to detail to complex, data-rich workflows in a fast-paced environment
  • Support the execution of the UX vision and be a contributor to the larger design community, setting high standards and driving best-practices
  • Your Qualifications

    Must-have:

  • 5+ years of related experience, ideally in data-rich enterprise SaaS products or similar
  • A talent for seeing through complexity and organizing information into simple, intuitive experiences that help users achieve their objectives
  • Understand how design impacts development and vice versa. Your designs are feasible to implement, and you make sure they’re developed accurately
  • You are adept at working in an agile, fast-paced environment to deliver high-quality, evidence-based work
  • You are able to use research to construct and defend your ideas, embracing feedback and enjoy an iterative, test-and-learn environment
  • Comfortable working with product managers to proactively identify product areas that need improvement
  • Have a strong portfolio showcasing excellent interaction and visual design expertise, and how you approach problem solving through data
  • Experience with industry design tools like Figma, Sketch, Abstract, Miro, InVision and Adobe products
  • Prior experience working with global teams distributed across different time zones
  • Nice-to-have:

  • An advanced degree in Design, HCI, or a related field
  • Experience of working with enterprise software, SaaS products, or developer tools
  • Experience of designing for data rich environments, such as trading platforms, online betting or complex user dashboards
  • An understanding of cloud infrastructure and experience with related platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
  • HTML, CSS, and React/Javascript knowledge
  • Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position

We're looking for bold and passionate people to be a part of our mission to create more perfect software. We'd love to have you apply, even if you don't feel you meet every single requirement. What's most important to us is finding authentic and accountable people who feel connected to our mission and values, not just candidates who check off all the boxes.

We believe in empowering all Relics to achieve professional, and business success through a workforce model called Flex First. The Flex First model allows us to work in a variety of workplaces that best support our success, including fully office-based, fully remote, or a combination of both.
