The Clinical Practice Coordinator (Teacher Education), under the general direction of the Program Director, facilitates MOUs, placements, and relationships with principals and districts including messaging our expectations for student teaching placements (some districts will not place our students without connecting with someone from the University). They will facilitate communication with K-12 and community based partners. Works with the Program Director to manage data including program surveys.  This position is responsible for facilitating data collection and analysis that contributes to systemic program changes and reports that are required by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) accreditation standards. Coordinate the collection and analysis of data for program improvement and state mandated reports.


This role provides support to students/candidates and faculty working within the University video management system (VMS).  

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Communicating with Teacher Education practicum and internship instructors and ensuring every instructor is updated with current information and documents
  • Completing exit interviews for students
  • Holding initial meetings for incoming students to disseminate student documents, review process and to review uploading OneDrive folders
  • Meeting with interns during their first term of internship to review log sheet(s), 
  • Revising practicum and internship documents and ensuring documents used are uniform
  • Uploading and maintaining clinical practice documents on student hub including logs, evaluations, site supervisor informational packet, University-District Agreement forms
  • Lead on revising  student handbook
  • As needed, meeting with student, university internship instructor and site supervisor to problem solve issues that occur during fieldwork/internship 
  • Providing one-to-one support for students struggling in the program
  • Communicating with school district’s supervisors regarding our interns and answering CTC questions 
  • Lead on working with students and practicum/internship instructors for completing alternative activities portfolio
  • Ensuring communication is in uniform by creating and disseminating informational documents for students regarding alternative activity portfolio, alternative comprehensive exam, and/or Praxis waiver. 
  • Providing students with Qualtrics supervisor information
  • Working with Qualtrics team to ensure clinical practice and exit documents are uploaded, functioning and data is gathered
  • Monitoring students that continue to need Advanced Clinical Supervision  
  • Participating in long and short-term program meetings including department EdS meetings, touch base meetings; Kognito; Taskforce 
  • Participate in the Advisory Task Force and in SERC meetings 
  • Participate in team/department meetings with staff and faculty 
  • Supporting instructors by completing grade changes for students 
  • Facilitates the MOU process and placement of students for internships and practicums 
  • Foster and build relationships with partnering districts and engage in outreach at the university, district, and school level
  • Facilitation and Delivery of communication and expectations for practicum and internships 
  • Evaluate and analyze data to ensure student placements meet all requirements of the standards.
  • Manage and maintain all data required for clinical practice by accrediting agents and prepare reports as requested by the Dean, Program Director, or Department.
  • Facilitates the placement of student teachers, MOU’s and master teacher & district data.
  • Facilitation of DSP and University training 
  • Conduct regular communication to master teachers + DSPs
  • Maintains video management system (VMS) and online platform environment in collaboration with colleagues in CSOE.
  • Perform other related tasks, duties and responsibilities as required,  assigned, or directed

 

Skills:

  • Proficient computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, especially SharePoint, Excel; Adobe, Cognos, Canvas, CampusNexus or similar SIS databases.
  • The ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to problem solve.
  • The ability to explain complex requirements in clear and concise terms 
  • The ability to be flexible with workflow to meet the needs of the department and students and to manage multiple tasks per required deadlines
  • The drive to encourage, direct, hold accountable and guide candidates toward task completion. 
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work as an effective team member and develop trusting relationships with students and Alliant employees, as well as the Registrar’s Office and various academic departments. 
  • Sensitivity to cultural diversity and ability to communicate and interact effectively with people of all ages and diverse background

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education:  Master’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Experience:  Experience with online platform. Understands the lifecycle of networking/public relations with school districts, principals, master teachers, and DSPs. 
  • Certifications, Licenses, etc .: Valid California Teaching Credential (or a reciprocal credential from another State) is preferred.
