Shelters United is a GPO exclusively for nonprofit animal welfare organizations. We work closely with a major distributor and several animal health product manufacturers. In this role, this individual will be part of a specialized sales team responsible for recruiting new members to the GPO and selling products from partner companies to nonprofit members: animal shelters, rescue orgs, and spay/neuter clinics.

 

This will be a remote position - the work will be done from your home, and training will take place via your computer at home. Shelters United is a fully remote company. 

 

We are in search of a talented, successful, self-motivated and driven Sales Representative who thrives in a fast-paced phone-based environment. Our ideal candidate must have a proven successful history of achieving sales goals, building strong customer relationships, as well as the ability to deliver consistent high numbers of phone, e-mail and other contact activities. Computer skills, telephone etiquette, sales aptitude, and the ability to sell a wide range of products and services are required.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1.   Meet or exceed sales targets while maintaining a sense of team

2.   Ability to sell a wide variety of products used by animal shelters, rescues, and S/N orgs

3.   Animal Welfare exposure and experience-Work with and sold to AWOs

4.   Outreach volume of at least 50-70 calls per day with email follow up

5.   Selling both products and services

6.   Account management

7.   Time management

8.   Accurately capture and update information about leads, prospects and customers in Salesforce

9.   Consistently work on improving and expanding product knowledge

 

Competencies:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following basic competencies required for making outbound phone-based sales:

·         Reaching decision makers

·         Closing sales

·         Generating referrals from existing customers

·         Time management – maximizing sales time

·         Success in selling remotely from your home with minimal supervision

·         Motivated, positive and strong team player

·         Strong Communication Skills

·         Strong Listening Skills

·         Rapport building

·         Customer Service skills

·         Strong computer skills

 

Education and/or Experience:

·         Veterinary Pharmaceutical and Pet Product sales experience

·         Animal Shelter and/or pet rescue experience

·         Sales experience with excellent phone etiquette, as well as written/spoken grammar is a must

·         Salesforce.com or similar customer relationship management software experience

·         Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

·         Computer proficiency

·         College degree preferred
