Job Description:

The Training Specialist oversees the instructional development and knowledge assets for all internal departments as well as client-facing product training. This position is responsible for incorporating key principles to effectively design and implement consistent training programs and materials aligning with the organizational vision and core values. This is a mid-level position, located in the Headquarters office (Rockville, MD).

Essential Functions:

  • Identify, design and implement effective training programs, initiatives and processes utilizing a variety of tools and media to enhance performance of the organization’s employees and close workforce skill gaps
  • Maintain content library in DealerOn’s learning management system (Lessonly) and answer employee questions related to trainings
  • Conduct training sessions covering subjects in technology, product, sales and support areas
  • Partner with the People Department and Operations to develop training presentations for new hire orientation
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to customize training content tailored to customer facing sales teams
  • Produce blended teaching materials promoting learning through self-study, practice, performance support, and knowledge-sharing for ongoing talent development
  • Develop assessments that measure improvement in productivity, retention, and effectiveness of training
  • Create and maintain organization communications to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development programs and resources
  • Generate training reports and distribute to management
  • Modify and maintain training programs as needed

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 3 years customer service/technical experiences in a call center environment
  • Excellent attention to detail, especially with communication (written and verbal) and meeting deadlines
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and Jira
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Project management and leadership experience
  • Ability and patience to explain technical topics to novices
  • Dependable, follows instructions and takes initiative to solve problems

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Working knowledge of a CRM, HTML, CSS, CMS
  • Automotive industry/knowledge
  • Experience working as a corporate trainer
