Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manages new and existing vendor relationships; Consumers in the individual health insurance market seek relevant and affordable health care solutions
  • Accountable for the end-to-end process of identifying and implementing programs/vendor relationships to the UHOne portfolio of individual market products
  • Identifies, interviews, vets, and contracts for services providing solutions to consumers in the health insurance market such as telemedicine, disease management, health care discounts and other solution-based products and services
  • Manages Network Management team which includes functions such as prescription vendor oversight, vendor billing and payments, as well as network relations and adequacy for medical, dental, and vision
  • Reports directly to the UHOne Vice President of Product Development
  • Works closely with all internal departments and a variety of enterprise-level departments to ensure effective and appropriate product launch, monitoring, and revisions when appropriate
  • Assists similar efforts with other UHOne-affiliated entities, including HealthMarkets and USHealth when applicable
  • Anticipates what is happening in the market and plans and executes on insights learned; Translates data into a compelling business case and customer value story
  • Analyzes data from Key Performance Indicators and recommends appropriate actions; May direct other functional areas in data and metric requirements to meet product requirements
  • Uses creative thinking to solve problems and continually identify opportunities for improvement, Challenges current thinking and status quo
  • Works with matrix partners to translate required capabilities into concrete operational processes and measurement plans; Validates requirements with marketplace; Pro-actively identifies needs/priorities of audience and provides relevant information when sharing insights, including facts and explanation of decision-making criteria
  • Communicates the product value story both internally and externally; Provides subject matter expertise and creates/maintains detailed product documentation
  • Researches and understands how market trends relate to and inform opportunities specific to their product/service area. Identifies key competitors and understands their position and strategy
  • Observes consumer and customer interactions with product; Dialogues with stakeholders on implications and modifications based on feedback and satisfaction surveys; Accurately represents consumer's and customer's needs with internal stakeholders and in related plans
  • Explains methods to quantify value of product; Has awareness of market sizing by segment and related opportunity space; Prepares business case; Partners with SMEs to build the end-to-end consumer experience
  • Identifies opportunities to leverage technology to improve product capabilities; Shares learnings with others to influence change
  • Accurately translates technical terms and concepts to non-technical stakeholders; Effectively represents technical challenges and opportunities to external and internal stakeholders; Leverage's insights to adjust timelines and resource allocation
  • Has awareness of modern development principles, practices, and values and how it changes development processes/cycle
  • Partners with network and actuarial colleagues to evaluate product pricing
  • Identifies potential issues and pro-actively develops mitigation plans; Assists in removing obstacles, resolves conflicts and ensures alignment
  • Serves as an advocate for the product and its capabilities; Maintains professionalism throughout interactions and reach mutually acceptable agreements
  • Develops product expertise to establish credibility; Presents in a logical, clear manner; Seeks to understand motivations of others
  • Demonstrates responsiveness by conveying critical information to decision makers; Demonstrates awareness of the desired outcomes in actions and thoughts; Acts decisively and takes ownership of actions
  • Uses findings to evaluate different courses of action and their impacts to organization
  • Leverages internal network of functional partners to form a point of view in an undefined space

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years experience in health insurance industry, products, and services
  • 5+ years Supervisor Level Experience
  • 3+ years experience working in matrixed environment
  • 3+ years experience working in a role with a high degree of autonomy and minimal guidance
  • 2+ years of Network Management
  • 2+ years of Project and/or Account Management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of Vendor Management Experience
  • 1+ years of New Vendor Exploration and Development Experience
  • 1+ years of Vendor Vetting and Development Experience
  • 1+ years of Vendor Contracting Experience
  • 1+ years of Vendor Relationship Management Experience
  • Experience with medical product offerings and health plan designs
  • Demonstrated experience in product development and management
  • Demonstrated people, process and project management skills and experience, attention to detail, well-organized
  • Solid decision-making skills, leadership skills, analytic/problem solving skills
  • Ability to provide input to overall department planning, forecasting and process making decisions
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - polished and professional
