The Cost Accountant will be responsible for the following. Contribute to the overall cost, revenue, and general accounting function in a new division for a medical device manufacturer in the oncology space. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for the following: Contribute to the overall cost, revenue, and general accounting function in a new division for a medical device manufacturer in the oncology space. Develops, implements and/or maintains one or a combination of cost accounting systems. Collects data, allocates costs and prepares reports on labor, equipment, depreciation, assembly, or other operating expenses, ensuring that established procedures are followed. Determines the timing and amounts of sales revenue to be recognized, tracks customer agreements, and reconciles revenues and costs. Supports the general accounting function, prepares journal entries; maintains and reconciles ledger accounts. Prepares financial statements and variance reports as requested. Analysis and prepare special reports. Interpret reports and records for managers. As part of a small team, will also be cross trained on and perform, as needed, various other accounting functions. Preferred locations Atlanta, Ga or Austin, TX but open to other locations. Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge: Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Cost and/or revenue accounting experience preferred. Experience with SAP (strongly preferred) or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.
