The Role

This Software Development Engineer in Test role is part of the Arity Testing Services organization and will support and drive achievement of progressive, fully autonomous testing solutions utilizing machine learning where appropriate across our Arity Product suite. Utilizing agile methodologies and extensive cloud technologies Arity is hard at work creating the future of continuous testing and we now need a strong, energetic and inquisitive engineer to play a key role in our team. This role is ideal for someone who has a real passion for technology and are advocates of software engineering best practices and continuous improvement and enjoys keeping up to date in industry trends and best practice. 

Responsibilities  

  • Executes upon test strategies for various products within areas of responsibility which deliver upon our goals 
  • Embraces our technical strategy for continuous delivery 
  • Contributes to technology strategy and engineering roadmaps 
  • Initiates and implements CI/CD in all areas of responsibility
  • Conducts current products Test Automation assessment and identifies areas of improvements
  • Creates automated test scripts to provide adequate test coverage for new and existing application features
  • Anticipates issues and develops preventative measures 
  • Managing workloads in an Agile development environment 
  • Supports the strategic technical direction for highly integrated, autonomous test solutions
  • Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in software testing with emphasis on mobile applications and services 
  • Experience working with development team to monitor, test, and deploy production releases
  • Experience providing test execution metrics and identifying areas for product improvement
  • Proficiency in finding, submitting, and tracking defects to resolution 
  • 2+ years of Test Automation Development experience with open source and market-leading solutions like Selenium and Cucumber to create functional and regression tests 
  • Experience with Web Services (REST, SOAP, JSON), APIs;
  • Working knowledge of scripting languages e.g. (Java, Python, JACL, Node.js) 
  • Experience with IDEs e.g. (Eclipse, IntelliJ)
  • Experience with Jenkins or other build release
  • Experience with GitHub or other version control & repository tool
  • Experience in mobile development – IOS or Android 
  • 4 year College Degree
  • Nice to have: 

  • Experience with common tools such as Artifactory, InelliJ, JUnit, JIRA, Maven 
  • Experience with delivering using Agile methodology practices 
  • Experience of cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, Pivotal Cloud Foundry 
  • Knowledge of security (risks and threats, authentication, authorization, certificates, encryption) 
  • Familiarity with Agile backlog management tools such as Atlassian’s JIRA / Confluence, Pivotal Tracker, TFS
