PHP Moodle Developer - Start ASAP

Day Rate - £450
Duration - 3 months initially
Location - Remote
IR35 - INSIDE (Umbrella Company)
Position summary

The PHP Moodle Developer is responsible for developing and maintaining the PHP Moodle learning management system. This individual will be working on the main Moodle application as well as creating new Moodle design instances for new clients.

Education, work experience and skills

* Previous hands-on development experience with the following technologies:
§ PHP, CSS, MySQL, HTML, and Bootstrap .
* Experience with PHP using Moodle, experience of packaging eLearning course materials using Articulate and/or other SCORM/LRS compliant tools
* The drive to find solutions to novel coding and relational data issues and the resourcefulness to troubleshoot issues independently
* Knowledge of Design Patterns, SOLID design principals, Object-Oriented Design and Test-Driven Development, REST API
* Knowledge of cloud platforms, both Hybrid and On-Premises
* Experience managing multiple projects with strong prioritization skills and working with tight deadlines
* Passionate for learning new skills and advancing the growth of the applications development offerings
* Excellent attention to detail with evidence of producing work to a consistently high standard
* Experience delivering within a multi-disciplined team
* Experience working within an agile environment

Core responsibilities

* Responsible for the creation, development and implementation of Moodle LMS platform
* Provides information to the Applications Manager on ongoing progress to deliverables
* Participates in the design, development, release and defect resolution of the LMS
* Leads the above areas relating to LMS
* Provides insights and guidance on Moodle design and approach
* Provides applications support and technical support to internal staff and external clients
* Creates and maintains integration documentation for all projects
* Responds to application development requests in a timely manner
* Limited travel to support launch of digital deliverables
* Stays abreast of software architecture, development methodologies, and best practices
* Clear and concise communication with team members
